~1 year before the accident~
Seven boys (and Minji) altogether were scattered in Yoongi's dorm room, Jimin, Hoseok and Taehyung on the bed, Namjoon and Suga hovering over the computer screen; Jin picking up loose clothes ransacked all over the dorm floor and Jungkook hidden behind Minji like an antisocial child. He held her hand, shaking because he didn't know the environment or many of the people that consisted it.
"Is it too late to change my mind?" Junkook tapped Minji's shoulder. Minji nodded her head and squeezed his hand a little tighter.
"I have your pills don't worry, if you feel a tad queasy just give me the safe word and I'll rush you to the toilets."
"But, you're a girl and I'm a guy." Jungkook pointed out. "How's that gonna work?"
"I'll pull you into the closest toilets around here, I don't care what anyone says about me." She said simply, easing Jungkook's nerves a little as she caressed the back of his hand with her thumb.
Suga liked to call this mess of a living space his personal recording studio, but really it was just a dorm he'd been placed in with a mac book the size of a small flatscreen TV mounted on his messy, sheet infested desk.
"Min-ah..." Hoseok eyed the interlaced fingers of his youngest friends. "...have one of my ships finally sailed?" He smiled deviously, referring to their almost whitened knuckles, the circulation had almost left their hands, they were holding on so tightly.
"No oppa." Minji scoffed, trying to numb the nervousness bubbling up inside of her. "Kookie over here's just a little anxious, it's the first time he's showing his voice to anyone other than us."
"Really?" Hoseok smiled hopefully. "How'd you get him to do it?"
"A magician never reveals her secrets." Minji tapped her nose with her free hand.
"You took his virginity didn't you?" Hoseok said without shame. The two nineteen year olds smacked a disgusted glare in the elder's direction.
"Hyung!" Jungkook whisper shouted. "What the hell?!" He slapped the elder with the back of his hand, blotches of red playing on his cheeks. Hoseok only giggled at how worked up he was, he knew very well how Jungkook felt for his best friend, most everyone did. Anyone could see how lovingly he gazed at her when she wasn't looking his way. Jungkook practically flaunted the smile he'd displayed on his face. But it wasn't like Jungkook was complaining about her oblivion to his feelings, despite his lingering crush for her, he was content with the way they were right then and there.
Though everyone knew of this one sided love, the person who should've seen was the only one who neglected to look. Her ignorant nature toward these small details always prevented her from seeing what he'd truly been thinking, her oblivious nature served as her downfall. If not for such an unknowing way of life, she'd notice his feelings in an instant.
"I really worry about the amount of OTP's you have oppa." Minji sighed, partially calmed by the inappropriate comment Hoseok had made. "It can't be healthy." Unfortunately, the same could not be said for the raven headed chaos Jungkook's body and mentality had come to be. His mind was a plethora of panicked thoughts, his physical features mirroring the mental images he had in his head. His anxiety was starting to kick in as his vision started to blur. His already clammy hands began to shake in their locked embrace with Minji's palm.
"S-solbu..." Jungkook whispered weakly, his words coming out breathy and quiet, as he trembled uncontrollably into Minji's shoulder.
"Already?!" She let go of Jungkook's sweaty palm and fumbled in her bag for a water bottle and a plastic container of pills that would help Jungkook's raging nerves. "Ok swallow this." She held out the pill in front of his fluttering eyes. He opened his mouth wide and Minji shoved the hard but powdery pill in. He closed his mouth on impact and grabbed the bottle of water to down the putrid tablet down his throat.
