"People say friends don't destroy one another. What do they know about friendship?" --"Game Shows Touch Our Lives," -The Mountain Goats

Song: Silent - Tori Kelly

I made it to class, and for the second time, I didn't get in trouble. I wonder if that's because she knew me when I was younger or because she was my neighbor. Or because she's just a very nice professor. Whatever it is, will stay a mystery to me.

Kylie was there to entertain me, since she was the only girl I know here beside Shady. I've always sucked at making friends. Once I made one friend, I don't try to make another one. That was one of the very negative things about me. "Hey yo." Kylie whispered to me as soon as Mrs. Johnson turned to the board again.

"Hi." I grinned at her.

"You wanna hang out after you're done with all your lectures?"

"I don't know. I'm really tired and I have a lot of things to do." I explained,

"C'mon! it's college. No one does their homework. You're lucky I come to this lectures." She looked at me like I'm some sort of an alien, silencing me with a sharp answer.

"Fine." I grumbled.

"When do you leave?" She asked.

"At 2—" I replied and she cut me off, "What! 2—How do you survive." She shouted, getting a few people's attention around us.

"What! 2! How do you survive." I mimicked her, making the silliest face ever, "Calm down. I start my classes at 11 and finish at 2, and I still skip some lectures."

"Ahhhh. You're a loser." She flickered my forehead.

The lecture ended soon after and my day was already passing through. I met Kylie on campus and we went straight to the mall. After eating some Chinese and gossiping a little, it was already night and we were going back to our dorms. She asked me if I knew Daniel from earlier because I seem to get just well with him. I told her that no, I don't know him. Because I didn't really wanna tell her that I clumsily mis-barged into his room and he's the boy next door. She won't understand.

"Do you like him?" Her question caught me off guard, "Who?" I replied, my eyebrows shot on their own accord.

"Daniel."

"Oh boy." I muttered under my breath.

"Why would you say that?" I asked her, my voice was so calm. But however, in the inside, I was panicking.

"Duhh. Everyone does. And we all know you hooked-up," She replied, "Twice."

"Oh boy." I muttered again, burying my face in my hands.

"I swear there isn't anything between us! He's not even my friend." I confessed.

"Geez, calm down. This is college we're talking about. It happens all the time." She assured me, but I didn't feel assured at all. And I resisted the urge to ask her if she meant the hooking-up part or the rumors.

After me panicking for a couple of minutes and Kylie assuring me that It's just rumors and people are gonna forget about it in a couple of days, we finally went back to the dorms. I didn't want her to know that I live next door to Daniel. I didn't want it to get any more awkward. Words spread like wildfire and I didn't want the spotlight.
