Super High School Level Scientist Yazu Takashi's POV

I was walking by the area of the school where the reserve students stayed when I heard these thunderous yells. Once I had stopped gasping in shock at how in the world anybody could be that loud, I decided to flatten myself against the wall.

I pressed my back up against the wall behind the door in the reserve course area. I quieted my breathing as much as I could, biting my lip so hard that it started to bleed slightly.

I couldn't make out much of what was being said, though I could tell that it was some sort of heated argument. Even an idiot could come to that scientific conclusion. I frowned and tried to listen closer to what was being said.

"What are you doing?! All you've been doing lately is going on and on about despair, and I want to know what the heck is wrong with you, Hajime! I'm sick of hearing this stuff! And what the heck is with your hair?!"

"...Izuru."

"Izuru? What the heck? What does that have to do with anything? Are you talking about the founder of the school?"

"My name is Izuru."

"That doesn't make any sense! You're Hajime! The same Hajime that creepy Nagito kid has a huge crush on!"

"I don't care about him."

"Yeah, that's obvious. Why else would the kid keep on kissing up to you all the time?"

"Stop talking to me."

"Why should I stop talking to you?! I thought we were friends, man!"

"We're not friends."

"W-what are you sayi-"

I could hear these odd choking noises next. I covered my mouth with my hand, both to clot the blood from my lip biting and to hear what was going on.

After a few minutes of silence, I could hear the sound of somebody dropping to the ground. I gasped and peered around the corner.

There was a boy, about my age, lying on the ground. There were deep bruises, bruises I'd recognize as being from strangulation, in his neck. A boy with long, black hair wearing a green tie stood over him. I didn't have to meet his red eyes to know that he was evil.

I ran as fast as my legs would carry me to find help. I had just heard a murder! And some talk about despair! ...I guess that second part doesn't matter as much as it could in this situation.

Regardless of the despair talk, I had to go and find help! I had just heard somebody die, and I didn't do anything! Oh, I'd get kicked out of the school for sure! How would I see Elec if I was kicked out of the school?!

Why am I freaking out about this of all things when I just heard somebody get strangled to death by the kid with the long hair?!

I eventually found myself slamming into somebody. The person also fell to the ground, so I gasped and got to my feet to help them up. "I'm so sorry!"

Ayameko took my hand and stood. "It's alright. Why are you in such a hurry? You look rather stressed."

"I just heard somebody get killed! There was this kid with long black hair and he strangled this other guy to death! With his hair! Is that even possible?!" I yelled, my words jumbling together into one supreme super word.

Ayameko didn't seem to understand what I had said and gestured for me to repeat what I had said, but slower. I didn't have time for this!

I have to go and find some help! Call the police, call a teacher, get a few students who are good at this stuff, anything!!

Super High School Level Prosecutor Elec Daegana's POV

Yazu was running around in a panic for whatever reason, which I admit stressed me out. I hadn't seen him doing all of this, of course. I just heard from other students that he was constantly running around and asking for help from anybody.

It was a while before I finally caught him in his room. Nobody was panicking but him, who paced the length of the room fearfully. "Yazu?" I asked, walking slowly into his room.

"I.. Elec!" Yazu gasped. He ran at me and picked me up, making my stilts buckle to the ground. Upon noticing this, Yazu set me back down. "Sorry about your stilts. I didn't mean to drop them."

"It's okay," I assured him, somehow not stuttering for once. Don't ask how I did that, because even I don't know. "I keep hearing that you're panicking... Is something wrong? Students keep saying that you're running around like a mad scientist... Pardon the pun."

"I'm pretty sure I heard somebody get murdered, and nobody will even listen to me! I bet that the body is still there!" Yazu cried. "Why doesn't anybody care that a reserve course student was just-"

I heard the gentle buzz of the intercom from the speaker system hooked up in every single dorm room. I found the screen hooked up in Yazu's screen. The headmaster showed up on the screen and told Yazu to head on down to his office.

Yazu hugged me tightly and then left the room, leaving me all alone in the room. I sat down on the bed with a sigh and began counting the minutes until he got back...

It was about half an hour later that Yazu returned. He looked absolutely traumatized, which I admit scared me a little bit. "Are you okay?" I demanded of him. "You look really nervous."

"The headmaster heard about what I found... And he wants to keep it quiet. How can he just do that?" Yazu asked me, tears filling his eyes. "He says that the detective girl with the long, purple hair is going to look into it with help from the nurse."

"They're really going to cover up a death?" I asked, unable to believe it. "That's absolutely crazy."

"Yeah... They are. And so that we don't get in trouble anymore, we had better keep it quiet, okay?" Yazu said. I nodded in response, though I was still a little concerned for what the school had in mind...
