Chapter 9: Blank
The audience looked at the screen, but it was blank. Then they heard Ms. Cosmo’s voice yelling out, “This movie is stupid, I quit!” followed by a door slamming as she left.
They applauded, because they thought it was stupid too, and now they could leave the theatre. As they streamed out of the doors, they came upon Ms. Cosmo, who was out in the street, crying.
“What will I do?” she sobbed, “I have nowhere to go!”
A man from the crowd walked up to Ms. Cosmo and said, “Pardon me, ma’am, but you could come and share your life with me on my ranch in Texas.”
“Why not?” asked Ms. Cosmo, as she jumped into a taxi with him, and they were taken to the airport.
