Chapter 7: The Dream Continues
Then the scene in the movie/play changed around Ms. Cosmo. As she looked up from her latest breakdown, she saw that she was in the middle of a meadow, wearing a shepherdess costume, with sheep around her in all directions.
There were angels and birds and there was harp music.
“My god, I must be dead, for I never have seen any of this,” murmured Ms. Cosmo, dreamily.
Suddenly from one of the bushes sprang a small deer.
“Oh this is too much,” she continued. She was then overcome with the desire to sing Elvis Costello’s “Watching The Detectives”. The audience loved it.
Suddenly, as if by way of magic, a rainbow filled the sky, and a dwarf with a black eye came running up and stepped on Ms. Cosmo’s feet.
“You rude little punk, I’ll kick you like a football.” With that note, he bit both her ankles. The pain from the kick caused her to pass out. The crowd signed at the beauty of the scene. They would always remember it with awe.
