Abu Musa narrated:
"The Prophet (SAW) said: "A faithful believer to a faithful believer is like the bricks of a wall, enforcing each other." While (saying that) the Prophet( SAW) clasped his hands, by interlacing his fingers." (Sahih Al-Bukhari)

You obviously remember the torture inflicted on the Sahabah when they proclaimed Tauheed.
In the face of such severe affliction, when Khabbab bin Al-Arat RA asked the Prophet (Peace be upon Him) if he would pray for them, the Prophet (Peace be upon Him) told him of the people of the past, who'd be put into ditches and be cut into two parts by saws, whose body would be combed with iron combs until the flesh would separate from their bones and nerves and yet, they would not leave Allah's religion. He promised that Islam would triumph but they are hasty (Sahih Bukhari)
Think about it. You and I have not had any problem that could be compared to the ones people before us have had. Or even compared to the problems the ummah in Syria or Gaza is being subjected to. Their sad stories put our petty problems to shame.
This is the time to thank Allah for His blessings and be full of realisation of the fact that Jannah is surrounded by hardships while Hell-fire is surrounded by temptations.
This verse reminds us that hardship will come to us some day. And when it does, it comes as a test, and it is upon us to prove that what we've proclaimed in our shahadah is what we feel at our lowest too.
Life is never static.
Maybe you're going through a tough time. You are not alone. Allah gives us a glimmer of hope in the end. Allah says that He is near. And when the One that is competent over all things is near you, what is there to fear?
Life is never static.
What has come will go. What has been broken will mend. But what you have done while Allah fixes it will forever remain etched in the registers.
It's easier said than done. But hey, no pain , no gain. Remember?
