Assalamu alaikum! 5 days down already! Time flies omg.

Today's goal is to spread a good word.

Enjoining good and spreading knowledge is an important part of Islam, because ours is a religion that stresses on excellence and more so, on chasing it together

A believer is the one who wants for his brother what he wants for himself.

It is not befitting for us, to keep our knowledge to ourselves. Helping each other out increases love between the ummah and that's the only way we're gonna get through the dunya together.

Contrary to what most people believe, you don't have to be a scholar to spread a good word, you only have to have a yearning to see all your brothers and sisters succeed with you.

Prophet (peace be upon him) said, " Send forth from what you learn, even if it is one ayah."

Start with your family and friends. Encourage them, guide them towards something good, for "The one who guides a person to some good, will be given the same reward as the doer without anything being deducted from the doer himself"

And Ramadan is the best time to grab as much ajr as you can get!

So let me begin with you guys :D

Today I'm going to share with you,  the one thing that moved me the most today.

So if you're following Imam Omar Suleiman, you'd know that he's doing a Ramadan series this year.

It's called the "Faith Revival" series and every episode deals with a separate aspect of Iman. The episodes are only 5 minutes long and Imam Omar is literally the sweetest Imam there is, and you just feel so much happiness when you listen to him!

Go watch them at Yaqeen Institute for Islamic research channel on YouTube!

So one of the lessons was about how our iman can have shaky foundations if we have a shaky heart, meaning a heart that is heedless and doesn't know its true purpose.

And the hadith goes on to explain how a shaky heart is due to the recklessness of the tongue.

So basically, our Iman rests on what the state of our heart is, and our tongues are the keys to our heart.

And it is so true!

The purer the heart, the more peaceful one's conversations are.

We talk most about the things that we love, and that mirrors what we truly care about, and feel inside of our hearts.

It's the scariest thing in the world!

Because we are so reckless with our tongues!

Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri narrated (that the Prophet s.a.w) said:

"When the son of Adam wakes up in the morning, all of his body parts bow to the tongue and say: 'Fear Allah regarding us, we are only part of you. If you are straight we are straight and if you are crooked we are crooked"

The tongue can cut wounds deeper than a sword. How many times have we forgotten to put a leash on it?

In sha' Allah I hope we start taking our tongues more seriously and realise that every word that leaves our mouth is a sign of what resides deep inside us and the longer we keep lying and  swearing and gossiping and backbiting and hurting with our brazen words, the blacker our hearts get.

Astagfirullah.

May Allah save us from being of the heedless and reckless. Ameen!

Ramadan is the perfect time to gain some control over what we speak. When we fast, we don't just abstain from eating and drinking. The fast is also of the eyes, ears, tongue and the limbs.

When we fast, we are extra careful of not letting our tongues get the better of us.

May Allah grant us the same strength throughout the year!

That's it from me today.

 Ciao :)
