Abu Musa narrated:
"The Prophet (SAW) said: "A faithful believer to a faithful believer is like the bricks of a wall, enforcing each other." While (saying that) the Prophet( SAW) clasped his hands, by interlacing his fingers." (Sahih Al-Bukhari)

Hope your Ramadan is going well, and hope this finds you in the best of Iman and health in sha Allah.
Gear up for Ramadan Reflective Dua #1!
This is something I have just come across and Alhumdulillah it resonates so much with what I've mentioned in the previous chapter that I thought it would only be fair for this one to succeed it.
So you know how we talked about blessings and how some times we are unaware of them? How we fail to acknowledge the little things that Allah has given us without even asking?
If you'd ask me to count my most important blessings, I'd most definitely say
☆My Deen
☆My Family
☆My Freedom
☆My Profession
My whole life revolves around this strong sense of belonging to a deen that defines every part of me. I am what I am because of Islam. I am what I came to be, and will become In sha Allah, because of the guiding light my deen has become for me.
Yet, this is something so precious we don't even realise how easily we have gotten Islam in inheritance. We have been gifted this deen with the efforts of our fore fathers and yet we don't give it its due.
For me, being a Muslim permeates every bit of my personality, my practice of medicine, my writing, my poetry and my relationships with other people. Everything I do someway or another reminds me of my Muslim identity and I am eternally grateful to Allah for giving me this beautiful opportunity to know Him and Pray to Him.
With my family and the freedom it has given me, I've never felt hopeless. There is a certain beauty in knowing that you have people in your life who let you fly, and don't mind dusting your wings when you get back home to them. Who will let you walk that extra mile and compromise and comprehend what your dreams mean to you.
Who know that you are too many people in one body and some times you want to do so much more than just what life holds you to.
If you have such family and friends, treasure them with all of your soul. There are only a few people who are happy with your happiness and who grieve alongside you. Don't undermine their sacrifices.
Thank them.
And most of all thank Allah in whatever way He lets you make a difference in this world. There is no way you and I could have even thought of doing good in this world, without Allah's will.
He knows the good inside us and He knows how best that good can touch lives so He has guided us along different paths of being doctors, nurses, officers, engineers, activists, speakers, writers, artists, lawyers, mothers, sisters, daughters, homemakers, wives and whatever other forms we come in.
Everything you do everyday looking beyond yourself for the betterment of the Islamic society and the world, at large.
I can not imagine what I would do with all of those 4 important blessings of my life and yet, come to think of it I've never really made any dua to Allah to preserve those favours of His.
I've always been so used to their constant existence that I've taken them for granted. So when I came across this verse from Surah Nahl today, it struck me how ungrateful we can be some times.

Our deen is only a dream for someone wandering astray.
Our family is only a dream for someone who has lost them all.
Our freedom is only a dream for millions of girls shackled by cultural and patriarchal practices.
Our profession is only a dream for those who never got the opportunity to get here.
So when the tafsir teacher recited this dua in connection with the above verses, I immediately tried to memorize it.
Hope you'll do the same!

"Allahumma Inni A'oodhubika Min Zawali Ni'matika wa Tahvvuli 'Afiyatika wa Fuja'ati Niqmatika wa Jami' Sakhatika"
"O Allah, I seek refuge in You against the declining of Your favours, passing of safety, the sudden-ness of Your punishment and All that displeases You."
SubhanAllah!
What are the 4 most important things YOU are thankful for?
