Abu Hurayra reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Give gifts and you will love one another." (Al-Adab Al-Mufrad)
Love and harmony among Muslims, in general and humans, in particular is greatly emphasized in Islam.
In a world where we are constantly at each other about things like Rafadain and number of rakah in taraweeh, it is important for all of us to rise above all the things that divide us and strive to be a part of a single ummah.
The bond that we share with each other is a special one, it is one bound by the love for Allah and His beloved messenger and no matter how much we fight, we can all agree on the oneness of Allah and on our love for the Messenger Sallalhu alayhiwasallam.
We must always be looking towards strengthening these ties and not breaking them.
And what better way to make someone happy than to give them gifts?
More so, you can try this with your non Muslim friends. Show them that Ramadaan is all about giving.
Put effort into gifting them. Gift them a Quran or an Islamic book, because there is no gift better than sound guidance.
We live in an unstable world. It is unpredictable and scary and all you can do to stay sane is keep your family and friends close, Muslim and non-Muslim alike.
Make it your Ramadan yearly routine! Gift away :)
