One of the most common names of Allah that we find in the Qur'an is that Allah is 'The All-Knowing."
We've read it a lot of times but why is it that we fail to ponder over it and grasp its actual meaning?
Then why is it that we don't trust Allah's wisdom in what we encounter in our everyday lives?
When Allah sends something upon us, He does so because He knows what our capacity is. He knows our calibre. He knows our strengths.
He knows the secret motivational speeches we whisper to ourselves. He knows how much we can take.
He knows it all. Better than you and I ever can.
Then why is it that we think so low of ourselves?
Why do we underestimate our skills and potential when the Lord of the Worlds thinks we're pretty up to the point?
He trusts us to be strong enough to handle this. He's just testing us and we need to shine through!
It all comes down to not just knowing but believing in everything Allah says.
Now reflect back at your Ramadan.
Alhumdulillah you've accomplished goals that you thought you never could.
You prayed on time. You prayed five times a day. You read Qur'an everyday. You made sure you caught every Taraweeh.
Now think of any other day outside of Ramadan. Think of waking up in the morning and deciding you're gonna do all of those above things throughout the day.
Shaytan --the fan girl that he is-- attacks. O.o
Then your nafs wants you to laze around.
Then you, with all of your abilities, give in to the idea that you just can't do this.
Well, duh!
If you can do it in Ramadan, with high school and college and exams (😓) and your job and fasting, you can do it anytime. #truestory
Alhumdulillah Allah makes it easy for us in Ramadan but my point is that this month is a testimony to our capacity. To the extent we can toil and strive and struggle to achieve our goals.
I hope I'm making sense OMG.
Where I'm trying to get at, is that the next time you think you've been charged with something more than your capacity, put your full trust in Allah and recall your Ramadan fervour.
Then tell yourself that you can do this. No matter how tough the situation appears right now, you're going to be just fine.
Be an optimist.
A believing optimist.
Now go be awesome! :)
Oh Allah, I hope I made some sense here. :O
