Doesn't this verse just make you feel extra special?
IMAGINE. The Lord of the Universe and beyond, says that He's the guardian of a Muslim.
How awesome is that!
And it's just so reassuring to know, that in this big bad world where atrocities are being committed left, right and centre, we are not alone.
You are not alone.
In empty libraries and behind closed doors, in deserted hallways and heck, even among people, our hearts are lonely and cold.
They're looking for a voice, a hand, a smile and they're beating and beating, struggling to live and to belong somewhere.
And you do belong somewhere.
You belong in dilapidated mosques and cramped corners, with your ragged prayer mat and heavy heart--you belong here.
And He is with you. He is your Guardian.
So really, I say again, you are never ever ever alone.
You belong to the ground, on the hard concrete pressing against your forehead and tears forming puddles underneath.
You belong to a community that holds you together.
Holds us all together.
And He is our Guardian who chose us to be Muslims. Who brought us out from our phases of ignorance and rebellion.
He got us all together, in this moment, you and I thinking of His kindness and thanking Him and loving Him and just hoping that we meet Him someday and look at Him and have Him pat our backs and say, "You did a good job."
As this Ramadan slips away, remember that He isn't going anywhere.
He was always there and will always be there.
He isn't the needy. We need Him.
For without Him, we're all sinking into black holes of our desires and sorrows, mistakes and grief.
Today and for every day of your life, remember this verse and reflect over who you want your best friend to be.
Allah or the accursed?
May the light of Islam penetrate our hard hearts and calm them and cool them and set it firm upon the path to approval of Allah, the most High.
Ameen! :)
