Abu Musa narrated:
"The Prophet (SAW) said: "A faithful believer to a faithful believer is like the bricks of a wall, enforcing each other." While (saying that) the Prophet( SAW) clasped his hands, by interlacing his fingers." (Sahih Al-Bukhari)
I...
I hope you're all reaching the goals that you have set for yourself this Ramadan, and if you haven't, well this is the time to gear up cuz Ramadan is already halfway through! SubhanAllah it feels so surreal to see Ramadan pass by so quickly.
So double up and strive harder, for this season of goodness will be lost for another year once the rest of the month slips through our fingers!
I have something I want to share from my personal experience. Setting goals, making plans, ticking off things on the to-do list are all amazing, but if in between this race of trying to gather all the reward we can, if we don't draw closer to Allah, the effect is going stay short-lived.
If Ramadan only becomes a thing that proves our planning and execution skills then it will just come crashing down as the month passes.
The only way to get some real change and get some real transformation in life that'll keep you up and about all through the year is the bond you make with Allah this month.
Because Ramadan is short-lived but Allah is forever and the relationship you build with Him this month, with a striving Nafs and the absence of a Shaytan looming over heart and muddling up the sincerity, this very pure and dependant relationship you make with Him is what will stay with you for the rest of the year.
So focus on private ibadat too! Spend time alone with Allah's book, interact with it, when you read any verse, understand it, if it makes you happy say Alhumdulillah, if it scares you, seek refuge in Allah and then spend time with Him in Tahajjud and In your Duas.
All this with humility, realising you are nothing in front of Him and that only His Mercy can save you from the Hell fire. We must strike a balance between hope and fear while making dua. We must talk to Him like He is our friend, our beloved, our own maker who has always stayed where He was, knowing full well that we will come back to Him.
(Sahih International) [Iblees] said, "My Lord, because You have put me in error, I will surely make [disobedience] attractive to them on earth, and I will mislead them all
-Sura Al-Hijr, Ayah 39
These are the words of Iblees after Allah banishes him from heaven. He asks Allah to delay his punishment till the Day of Judgement.
And Allah grants him that time! Can you believe it? Allah accepted Iblees' dua! The worst of all beings who outright rejected Allah's command, Allah accepted His dua too then I don't know why we have so little faith in our duas.
So anyway, the downside of that dua getting accepted is that it has become a great trial for mankind because of Shaytan's whispers that aim at leading them astray.
In this particular verse, Shaytan mentions how he intends to lead us astray.
By beautifying disobedience.
By making us blind to what bad deeds are.
By justifying whatever we do wrong.
In other verses in the Qur'an, he says he will sit on the right path and lead Allah's slaves astray.
Look at his elaborate plan!
It's almost as if he's saying the ones who are on the wrong path, who have made him their friend, they're not the ones who he's worried about.
He's worried about you and I. The ones who want to go on the straight path, the ones who want to do good.
He is behind people who want to stay on the right path, but then he makes them lose sense of what is right and what is wrong, by glorifying the good and shaming the bad.
Then when they commit a sin, he makes them justify it, effectively cutting the route to asking for Allah's forgiveness and as that slowly progresses, we lose sight of all that is good and our hearts harden and then we go down a path exactly opposite to where we had started.
And then he moves on to another person.
Astagfirullah!
So the first step, the first attack he makes is on our conscience and understanding so we must always pray to Allah to make us see the right and wrong clearly.
That's Dua #4 for you!
