So
YIKES RAMADAN IS ALREADY HERE! 💥
I hope you've all made your plans, buckled up and are off to go grab some ajr!
I am the kind of person who just can not work in chaos. I am the kind of person who can't go into something without a list, or a plan because I do believe strongly that, "If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.
So without further ado, let's get down to business. Some of you might be reading this while in Ramadan and I don't want to take too much of your time!
This is my Ramadan action plan, and I hope it helps you too!
Basically, you can divide your ibadah into three parts:
-Quran
-Salah
-TasbeehYou need to focus on getting these basics into your daily schedule. Map out your daily routine and check how many hours you have for ibadah. Then divide your time between these three.
With Qur'an, you have three essential things to make sure you get closer to it because of course, Ramadan is the month of Qur'an!
1. Tilawat
2. Tafsir
3. Memorisation1. Tilawat:
This is something all of us try to squeeze in as much as possible! So keep going. Try to finish at least one Qur'an this Ramadan.
If for whatever reason you can't do this, then don't worry. Push yourself but know when you can't do something. Take a step back and see what you really want?
Read it mindlessly and get over with it? Or actually let it affect your life?
Quality is more important than quantity. So if you think that you are compromising on the quality of relationship you have with the Qur'an while trying to meet your goal of finishing it, then stop right there and correct yourself.
One ayah read with reflection and emotions is better than an entire book read with none at all.
Just make sure that when you read the Qur'an, it changes you and you'll know that you're doing the right thing.
2. Tafsir:
This is very important if you want the Qur'an to really change you. Take an hour off and just listen/read some good tafsir. It gives you so much insight into the context of the verses and it helps you understand the core of what is being said.
Join a tafsir study group near your place, or just search some resources online!
A few suggestions, if you need any:
-Maulana Maududi's tafsir is pretty well-known and is highly renowned. Buy the book if you can, or download the app (I recently found it online)
It's called TAFHEEM-UL-QURAN. The books and the app are both available in English and Urdu.
-Dr. Farhat Hashmi's FAHM-UL-QUR'AN. She's the one I follow and I really love her way of looking at things. She is very extensive in her lecture and you will definitely feel the change in you when you listen to her.
She does go a little slow so if you want finish the lecture quicker, you can download an app that can help you increase the speed of the audio. ( I use AUDIPO)
You can find her online material at www.farhathashmi.com
-Nouman Ali Khan
Now don't we all love him? Ustadh Nouman has pretty much a lot of content on his YouTube channel : BAYYINAH and let me tell you this—You'll be addicted in no time!
