The checklist continues!
-The Obedient :
Some things about obedience that we need to understand :
»A Muslim means someone who submits completely to Allah. Which means to obey each and every command, whether it's tough or easy, makes sense to us or not.
It's a sign of hypocrisy to only focus on the easy parts and ignore the difficult ones. May Allah protect us from this. Ameen.
» Never change the command according to your ease. The Israelites used to do that and Allah reprimands them immensely in Surah Baqarah.
» A three step approach : Intention, effort, dua.
Do it for Allah. Make the purest intention with Ikhlas. But its not a one time thing. Keep on purifying your intention all along.
Put in your best effort. Leave the result to Allah.
When the going gets tough and you fall, stay there and ask Allah to make it easy for you. It's the only thing that works some times.
Some tips to make sure our obedience stays on point :
» A 5 second wait : Before doing or saying anything, wait for 5 seconds and think-- Will Allah be please with what I do or say next?
May Allah help us make it a habit. Ameen.
»Self retrospection :
The root word for human in Arabic also means forgetful. It is the blatant truth. We are a forgetful people. Despite the best intentions, some times we just succumb to our human weakness and forget the lessons we've learnt.
One thing that I've found useful is to sit quietly for some time and analyze my behavior throughout the day. Whenever I commit a major mistake, I try to cover it up with good deeds because Allah says in the Qur'an that good deeds do away with bad deeds
Some ideas :
-Offer 2 rakah salah
-Read a page of Qur'an
-Extra Tasbeeh
-you could set up something akin a swear jar and give the money in charityThat way your bad deed will be compensated for (in sha'Allah) and you will not even think of messing up the next time. It's a win-win situation!
-The one who spends :
The one who willingly parts with the things that are most beloved to him for his ultimate beloved!
It could be anything -- money, time, ilm etc.
The latter two are more relevant to us as youth.
In your daily schedule, take out some time for Allah. Learn a new surah, study tafsir, do tasbeeh or just feel His Love for a quiet moment. Sacrifice some of your worldly entertainment and turn back to Allah, Your Lord.
What you learn along the way, share it. The one who facilitates or directs someone to a good deed will get the reward as if he's done the deed himself without anything being deducted from the actual doer.
SUBHANALLAH HOW KIND CAN ALLAH GET? :')
Share your ilm with your family and friends. If possible, start a blog or a book (wink wink) The time you put in this will also count as ibadah in sha'Allah.
(But always be careful about the authenticity of your message)
And when you share the message, you become more mindful of doing it yourself. (Practice before you preach)
It is one of the habits of productive people--that they tell their goals to people and that binds them to get through with those goals, no matter what.
-The one who seeks forgiveness before dawn
The prayer of the last third of the night! Oh what tranquility, what bliss those few minutes before Fajr contain!
Tahajjud is the most favoured nafl salah. Allah comes down to the last heavens.
FOR YOU & I.
Imagine! :')
Make full use of this opportunity this Ramadan (because we wake up for sehri anyway) and add this one to your list of resolutions.
This salah makes a powerful impact on your life and faith. Don't miss the chance to talk to Allah when the rest of the world is busy snoring!
Show Him that you Love Him more than those few minutes of slumber.
May Allah make us of these few people. Ameen! :)
