Chapter 28- I Was Saved By The Cow
"Jess?" Biker-dude tried to grab my attention again, a small smile on his face.
While I was having a hard time paying attention, biker-dude was trying to get my attention. Needless to say, a fish might've possessed me at this very moment.
But who could blame me? I was busy slapping myself internally, urging myself to stand up and run away as biker-dude kept smiling at me.
It was an odd expression, it made me think from bad to worse. Honestly, a short-tempered guy smiling at me like the world was going to end any second didn't fit well with me.
One, it made me think that the world was going to end any second, and two, I was expecting him to pounce at me and then wring my neck like a wet towel.
Because who knew? He might've snapped because my reason wasn't valid enough, then insanity might've taken over him, causing him to smile.
But not just any smile, the kind of smile that a person got when they were about to kill someone.
A psychopath smile.
Any second now... I crossed my fingers.
Biker-dude furrowed his eyebrows, "Jess?" He waved his hand in front of my face, I blinked, but the panic didn't leave me.
I knew what he was doing, he was going to pretend to wave his hand in front of my face while discreetly trying to bring it closer and then he would slap me and claim that it was an accident.
I don't know what came over me, but I suddenly stood up, looking at him with wide-eyes.
I pointed an accusing finger at him, "I know what you're trying to do!"
He stood up as well, cocking an eyebrow at me and shoving his hands into his pockets, "Yeah? And what's that?"
"You just want to end it all right here, and right now. Don't you?" I gave him a panicked look.
He wanted to end my life, I just knew it. He had planned it all along, and what could be better than an abandoned barn flocking with birds that would poop on my corpse?
It was the perfect place to kill me off.
He let out a sigh and ruffled his hair, nodding, "I think both of us had enough of this, there's no point in all this anymore,"
I stared at him incredulously, "So that's it? You decided that it is best if you end this?"
What the hell was wrong with him? He couldn't just kill me because he felt like it! It doesn't go that way! So what? I should let him kill me willingly because he felt like it?
Oh no, that was so not going to happen! Over my dead body!
Wait, that didn't sound right...
He stared at me, "Yeah," Then he averted his gaze, "I mean, I was never the one to hold a grudge, I usually ended it all in an hour or so. And after hearing what you told me, I think it's best if we just get it over with," He looked at me again.
I gave him a horrified look, he was completely off his rocker this time, was his gig so important, that he was willing to resort to murder?
He has to snap out of this, he was going crazy! I had to do something before it was too late.
Without a second thought, I slapped him across the face.
He hissed in pain and his hand shot up to his cheek, caressing it, then he glared at me and growled out, "What the hell?"
