We Just Fell

Chapter 7

Ava's P.O.V

Lunch came around fast today as I sat next to Scott with Miranda on the other side.

"So if you hate Nick , why would you date his best friend?" I asked Miranda and she stares at me suprisngly.

"Nick is not going to stop me from wanting to date a guy I like " Miranda replied back.

" Oh so you do like him" Scott said teasing our bestfriend.

Lunch went by quickly as there was an awkward tension between our friends ever since we started talking about Nick. I went to my Ap classes and it mostly involved answering the questions , getting it right and keeping a distance from Nick in our seats.

I think he understand that I didn't want to talk to him.

After school, I drove to the bakery to hand in my application. I walk into the shop as the lady over the counter is there.

" Hey sweetie " Cherry greets me as she cleans the counterdown with a rag.

" Hey this is the application and my working paper " I said smiling while handing her the paper.

" Okay I think I need to make a copy of these 2 just in case. I will be right back " She said going to the back.

I step off to the side just in case someone wanted to stare at the bakery goods. I can remember the taste of eating the Vanilla and Cinnamon bun cupcake. It was so amazing. I turn to look at the crowd in the bakery. As usual , they were just smiling amd chatting away. It's a small bakery but it has a big hearted crowd.

" Ava ?" I hear someone called my name but it was familiar. I turn to face Nick as his blue eyes brighten.

" Hey , what are you doing here ? " He asked awkwardly looking away with his hands in his pockets.

" I am getting a job " I said with a grin as he looks like he is about to laugh.

" Really? " He asked and I nod my head. " Well I guess you will be seeing me often " He mentioned. I can feel my heart beat faster as I hear those words.

" How come ?" I asked as I think my boss returns back.

" Aunt Cherry " Nick says hopping for the counter to hug her and give her a kiss on the cheek.

" Nick Dorotoa , I just cleaned that counter" She scolded but still hugged him with a big smile. My jaw dropped to this news.

" This is Ava and she will be working here now "Cherry said smiling at me as I return one. " You start work tomorrow at 3:00 to 8:00" she informed me as I nod my head.

" Thank you so much" I said in an unbelievable tone.

" Welcome sweetie.Here is your uniform" She laughs handing me an apron with the name of the bakery " Happy Sweets ".

" What will I be doing ?" I asked making sure I understand the concept of this.

" It's easy, you just give the people what they ask for and put it in a box depending on how much with a bow on top. The pricings are all on the chart by the cash register so it wouldn't be hard to look. You just look at how much treats are ordered. " She said with a big smile as she walk towards the back.

" Well congratulations on getting your job" Nick said as I turn around to look at him.

"Thank you " I said quietly as I turn back to go to the door.

"Do you need a ride?" He asked as I thought about it.

"No, it's okay. I am in the mood to just walk " I said giving him a thin smile while then exiting the bakery. I wanted to turn around but I just couldn't.
