David drove me almost the whole way home, I told him I'd walk the rest. I managed to come up with an idea of where I had been last night, I just hoped it would trick Will... I came home, closed the door behind me and notice the whole house was quiet, until I hear Will shout:

"And where the hell have you been?" I turn to see him with a suitcase in hand.

"And where the hell are you going?!" I ask worriedly. "Wait," I mutter. "another business trip?"

"I'm afraid so." He sighs. "I'm sorry, Ros."

"Are you?" I ask hurt. "We never see each other anymore..."

"Well maybe one of us should give up our job." He puts his case down and folds his arms almost in protest.

I copy his action and snarl at him: "Well I'm not giving up mine, I've worked bloody damn hard for this! And you expect me to give it all up when it's just starting?"

"Well I'm not giving up mine!" William roars.

"Then I guess we just carry on like this." I mutter.

"Like what?" He asks.

"Slowly destroying our marriage."

I feel the tears starting to fall from my eyes and Will shows no sign of comfort, instead he picks up his case and brushes his shoulder with mine pushing me slightly.

"William-" I try to stop him.

"No, Rosalind. You've made it very clear what you think is going to happen." He growls angrily hurt.

"Then stay and let's sort it!" I scream desperate.

"No, I think it's best we have some space." He decides.

"That's all we ever have these days!" I scream, the tears streaming down my face, this was killing me! It was killing my family!

Will closes the door behind him, I scream and throw my shoe at the door breaking the heel on it.

My best shoes!

I think to myself.

I sigh and praise The Lord that the boys are at school again. I pick up my broken heel and put it in the bin with the other shoe and hear the door knock. Hopeful, I sprint to the door thinking it'll be Will. Once I open the door, I fall disappointed then feel a little happier once I realise who it is.

"Margo?" I mutter and wipe my dripping mascara from my eyes.

"Ros? Look at the state of you... C'mon, let's clean you up..." She rubs my back and takes me back into the house. "What's goin' on?" She says in her strong American accent.

"Me and my husband, Will just had another argument..." I sob.

"Yeah David did fill me in on your news, hope you don't mind." She says carefully but I don't say anything. I didn't care, I trusted them both.

"My marriage is failing, Margo..." I weep.

"Oh honey," She sympathises for me. "everything will be ok..."

"Will it? Margo, why can't I be just as happy as you?"

"Honey, even me and my husband have fights... It's normal!" She smiles trying to make things better. "Sometimes, he walks out on me, but he always comes back." With her thumb, she strokes my cheek.

"He's always going away though, always going on business trips." I strop.

"Well, at least he's bringing in some money...!" Again, Margo tries to find the positives.

"But we don't need more money, we're living just fine!" And me still finding the negatives.

"I know what can cheer you up..." She puts the black wipes in the bin and I look in the mirror to see my bare, naked face. "David's taking you out soon, and now that Will's out the house for awhile, you can spend the whole night together...!"

"Well no, because who's going to look after the boys? They're too young to be left-" I sigh but I'm interrupted.

"I'll look after them, it's no trouble!" Margo offers.

"Margo I can't let you do that, you're here on holiday!"

"Ros, I've come to relax, looking after the boys, and eating some chocolate in front of the telly is just what I need. I'm also here on David's behalf, he needs his head P.A. at a time like this." She winks.

"What would I tell them? 'Boys, see you tomorrow, I'm spending the night with my ex lover and your favourite singer, David Bowie. See you in the morning' ?!" I sound distressed by the lie.

"Well, don't say it like that..." She thinks then her eyes light up. "Oh! What about you tell them you're on a business trip? Or that you're meeting David Bowie to see if he'll perform on your stage?!"

"Margo that's a brilliant idea! Then David could come and meet them the following morning...! You're a genius!" I finally smile just as wide as Margo is.

"I try." She blushes at me.

"Well, first things first, you'll have to meet the boys." I smile, almost excited for the boys to be introduced to my friend, and, David's head P.A.

Margo and I walked to the boys school and picked them up, the whole way home they asked Margo many questions like:

Where she met me
How she got her accent
What her job was
And if they could go to America with her...!

Once home the boys ran upstairs to do homework and Margo got a text from David:

"What's it say?" I say like a teenager.

"I'll read it to you..." She pauses and takes a deep breath. "Margo, please tell Ros I'll be picking her up tomorrow night at 11, and remind her to wear something warm please! Thanks and see you later - David."

"Tomorrow?!" I begin to get giddy. "What's he planning to do at 11 at night?!"

"You'll have to find out." She smirks.

"Boys?!" I tell up to them.

"Yeah?" They both call back.

"Come here please!" I shout up to them.

"Can you babysit for me tomorrow night?" I plead.

"Of course I will Ros, you don't even have to ask!" She smiles them gives me a kiss on the cheek - Margo was the kindest friend I had ever had.

The boys come storming down the stairs and stand in front of me like soldiers, Ziggy's blonde curls shine in the little sunlight left, and Tommy's big brown eyes practically sparkle at me.

"How would you boys like the idea of Margo looking after you tomorrow night?" I question them.

"Why?" Tommy asks.

I look at Margo and take a deep breath. "I'm meeting David Bowie."

The boys scream like little girls and start running around the house like wild dogs, me and Margo burst into laughter and I get the boys attention again.

"He could possibly be performing on my stages, and he might come and see you in the morning...!" The boys scream again and get even more excited now, I have to cover my ears from the voice they make! It was so good to see the excitement the boys had, but I wondered what David would say... And now that the boys knew David was back in Brixton, soon William would know.
