I stood behind the keyboard, I wore all black, my diamond ring glittering and dazzling under the spotlights. I can feel large beads licking the surface of my forehead. Nerves overpower my body and I can feel my hands shaking violently. The crowds already cheering, chanting David's name over and over. His name, drilled in my head.

I try to calm myself. Deep breaths, Ros. My eyes tightly shut then I open them, knowing David is watching me.

He nods at me reassuringly and I feel better, I mouth the words "I love you" and he mouths them back.

I wanted to throw up, I wanted to scream. Was I excited?! It was too late to think anymore, the curtains pulled away and I was no longer hidden. I was in a state of shock at how many people were here, a deer in the headlights I was. I couldn't see faces, just a sea of bodies that continued to scream Bowie's name.

"Well good evening to you all." David mumbles through the mic, which sends a roar of cheers through the crowd. "I hope you all have a wonderful time tonight." He smirks out into the crowd.

David licks him lips, clears his throat and the guitar rifts begin to play. David taps his foot and that's when I know it's my time to start playing. My head started to move in time with the song, David starts to sing the lyrics we wrote together 10 years ago and I can finally feel the buzz of excitement, the thrill of it all. The music practically deafening my ears, I could feel the beat rumbling through my chest and deep down into my stomach, a new sensation.

I hum along, hammering my fingers hard against the keys on the keyboard. The sweat no longer bothering me, my ring wasn't even distracting me, I wanted to play every key right for David. I could see photographers, our faces will be splashed over the front page tomorrow morning, with a bold heading, something along the lines of A MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM BOWIE AND HIS NEW WIFE TO BE.

I push the idea out of my head, the concert was more important right now. Once Rebel Rebel had finished playing, applause is heard for all of Brixton to hear. A sigh of relief blows past my lips and I can't help but smile. David takes a sip of water and I just watch him, I even have a second to admire my ring more.

Song after song, I never got bored of playing the keys. Loving the alien was next, and I could've sworn I could hear Ziggy's voice over everyone else's, whooping and chanting out our names. For his song! I wasn't sure where they were, my eyes flicking over the front row crowds, looking for Margo and Juke and Madison, and the other boys too, although I couldn't see them I knew they were there.

Dusk turned to twilight, and the night was unusually warm for a December night but maybe the spotlights were the things keeping me warm.

"Ok, this is our last song for the night." David purrs through the microphone, and it echoes over the grounds.

For a split second, I thought about the mess I'll have to clear up after the bank holiday. It'll be cold, I'll be eating old turkey sandwiches for lunch and rubbing my cold red nose. Great.

"This one, is dedicated to my wife-to-be. Rosalind Chester." David looks over to me and the crowd roar with claps and cheers again.

I can't help but blush and wink at him. The music begins to play, people's sparklers begin to light and I see the dots of yellow and orange light up the black night.

"I, I will be King." David puts his hand by his heart. "And you," he points to me. "You will be Queen." I smile and continue to play the keyboard even if this song is dedicated to me for the night.

I look up and see more sparklers alight and it makes my heart melt in happiness.

I've had the most traumatic year of my entire life, but I couldn't be happier right now.

"We could be Heroes, just for one day!" David sings energetically.

I giggle, I didn't want this night to end!

"Thank you everybody!" David calls out and waves. "I'd like to wish you all a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year! Goodnight!" The crowd's thundering claps last for over 5 minutes, the band and I just playing the chords to some of David's songs and David goes off stage. People start to leave the concert grounds, the sea turning into a river flowing out onto the Brixton roads.

Once I can leave the stage, the boys are already waiting for me, all three of them hugging me, saying how good I played. "Mum it was best!" Tommy shouts.

"Well done Ros." Margo says, kissing my cheek.

"Thanks Margo, where's Juke?" I ask her.

"He had to go back to yours to settle Madison, poor thing was trying to sleep!" Margo coos about her daughter. "You're meeting David now aren't you?"

"Yes, just on my way now, could you-"

"Don't worry, David already asked me to look after the boys, but they're probably exhausted from tonight's events!" Margo giggles and I smile.

"Ok, well I'll see you later." I hug her tightly.

"Don't be out too late, there's too many drunks walking about on Christmas Eve!" Margo warns.

I just nod at her, I was a grown woman, I could look after myself. I was just still buzzing about tonight's experience.
