It was chilly, and still people were crowding the streets. If I had just come out of a concert, I'd want to go straight home.
Well that's a lie isn't it Ros. In fact, after the concert you'd go to the pub or a club, and it's Christmas Eve! You'd be out all night!
People bump into me, half of them don't realise they've done it. As expected, almost all of them are drunk. People laughing hard, talking of Christmas and the new year and their resolutions they hope to keep. (But everyone knows they won't).
On normal days, I'd be getting frustrated with the barging, but tonight, I don't mind. I'm in my own world, happy, overjoyed, excited for my future. A wedding, a tiny little girl will be in my arms, more concerts, less drama, more of David, more family time...
Snuggling into my knitted scarf and winter coat, I head towards the wall where I know David will be.
Will he be in his disguise? He must be... There are too many people tonight, he could be easily spotted.
Once there, I see no one is waiting for me.
He can't be too long.
I admire his face splashed across the wall, I tilt my head, trying to find something new about it, but I had seen it all before too many times. I can't help but smile at it still, and whisper to it:
"Thanks for a beautiful night Blackstar." I brush the face lightly with my hand.
People walk past, most don't even realise I'm there, some still push past me and some snigger at me for talking to a wall.
Only if they knew the truth.
I smirk back. I spent minutes more just staring at the wall, as each minute went on, less people seemed to pass me until there wasn't a single person in the street. I barely noticed it until I was practically alone.
"Wonderful concert." A man hoarsely speaks standing next to me, the only man here now.
I sigh a little disappointed, it wasn't who I was expecting.
"Thank you." I quickly glance up then back at the wall, I didn't take notice to the face, only the golden street lamp was our source of light. I had never known a darker night.
"You're quite a performer." The man states impressed.
"Oh, no," I blush. "not especially, its David who-"
"Ah yes," the man's voice changes, almost as if I've offended him in some way. "You're to be the new Mrs Bowie, am I correct?"
"Well, everyone's going to know by tomorrow, so I suppose, yes, I am." I smile humbly and blush a harsher red now at the thought of my wedding next year.
"Weren't you married before? 2 children?" The man asks.
"How'd you-"
"Newspapers. Come up with such stories... They even said that you had an abusive boyfriend previously. Rumours are your eldest child is his?"
"No, the papers are wrong about that fact. My eldest is David's." I pause and gulp, did the papers really know this much about my life? How come I had never read these storylines before?
"But you did have an abusive partner?" He asks.
The more questions he asks, the more I believe him to be a reporter to spoil mine and David's happiness in the upcoming year. I just ignore the reporter, and hope that David soon comes to briskly take me away from this situation.
"Well?" He tries to push for an answer, I started to feel uncomfortable, and wanted to find away to remove myself from the situation, but how?
"I don't need to tell you about my life, you're a complete stranger!" I scoff.
But the man grabs my shoulders and slams me hard against the wall with David's face on. My head throbs and I whimper, I squint, and try to regain full consciousness. The man lifts his hat up slightly and now that my vision is a little better, I recognise his face straight away, even after 10 years.
"Kevin!" I try to scream, but it only comes out as a whisper.
Kevin holds his elbow over my neck now, and I can barely breathe. My memories from 10 years ago come shooting back and I want to scream for help!
"What do you want?!" I manage to say fighting back scared tears. My legs kicking out, my arms whirling around in front of him.
Don't cry, Ros. It'll show weakness! Don't show Kevin you're afraid!
"I've come for revenge!" Kevin hisses close to my ear.
Where has everyone gone? Every person who pushed me out of the way, why couldn't they be here now?! To see this?! To help me?!

David P.O.V
"Want another David?" Larry asks as he dries a pint glass.
"No, no." I say wiping my mouth from the glossy beer foam. "I better go and meet Ros, I said I'd meet her after the concert, she must be waiting for me now actually." I check my watch and I'm startled at the time, it was 2 a.m. Christmas Day. I then go to check my phone and see I have no new messages, which shocks me slightly.
"Well, merry Christmas David." Larry smiles, wipes his sweating forehead that was creased with lines and goes back to wiping the glass.
"Merry Christmas Larry, I'm sure me and Ros will be in here after the bank holiday for a drink! Well, me drinking pints, her drinking orange juice!" I laugh to myself, put my coat on and head for the door.
"You take care of that little family, David. God bless and love you all! Can't wait to meet your little girl either!" Larry says sharing my excitement.
"Not for another couple of months, but it won't be long! Goodnight Larry!" I say cheerfully.
I take a deep breath, the streets were empty which came as a surprise to me. I wait a moment to take a cigarette from my pocket and place it between my lips. It was so cold, I was practically biting the fag in half, but my mouth soon relaxed when the addiction filled my lungs.
I take another couple of huffs, until I hear an agonising scream. The scream rips through my body, making every nerve in me split. My heart jumps and I can feel the pain it causes me. A woman, she was in trouble!
But who would be out at this time of night?
Then it hits me hard, that scream made me want to vomit... It was Ros who screamed, it was Ros who was in trouble.
