Split in two

Split in two

Conjoined yet separated,

Close but out of reach,

In sight but bonds vanished,

A twist of happiness to pain,

Trust to uncertainty,

Loyalty to strangers,

Sisters to friends,

Years of friendship torn,

Why didn't you hold on?

I gave it my utmost best,

You sliced the rope,

Allowing me to dangle from a string,

Suffering without you,

For you latched yourself upon my flesh,

I dearly miss your presence,

I miss the old days,

Full of laughter, jokes, teasing,

But now, only awkwardness and small smiles,

It's far better than nothing at all,

What had torn us,

I do apologize for allowing this to happen,

Do remember that our memories will remain in my heart,

I may not be beside you,

But I'll be your stars.
