Fight for who we are
Why?
is a question we all ask,
and the more we ask,
the more questions we have.
Is this it?
we ponder on our present,
our past, our future,
and dwell if what is will stay as is.
Should I give up?
fight or flight,
risk or stay afraid,
and remain in the unspoken.
Who have I become?
in the mirror is a lie,
in our eyes is a trapped soul,
when have we become the shadows of ourselves?
What do I have to lose?
alone and puzzled,
empty and hurt,
the flames slowly suffocating.
Am I alone?
look around you,
let your heart see with its own eyes,
let your soul feel what you deny it.
Am I ready to give up?
sure, go ahead, let your demons win,
let all your pain be in vain,
but in the end you'll be the shell...
Forgiveness?
we all make mistakes,
we hurt and we get hurt,
but in the end it depends on whether,
we forgive ourselves and continue to fight for who we are.
