A heart of gold

Given on a silver platter,
And accepted what was offered,
It was far too easy,
For once a thought of that didn't occur,
Just happy for it was longed for,
Once accepting it was ripped,
Torn, shattered, burned,
And paraded around,
Like what was thought have been,
Have once again gone to thought of mistaken,
Happened more than once,
Yet every time had the same impact,
A bird being plucked of its feathers,
A fish with no gills,
A cat with no fur,
But it never changed the heart of gold,
It did not dent the sincerity,
Nor the passion,
Nor the flame,
Nor the ability to care,
It made the heart grow in value,
Matter not whether it is shattered,
It thrives around the pain,
As a reminder,
That mistakes is worth the lesson that it serves.
