Imagine being stuck on Syd Barrett's mind. He paced around his house trying to get up his courage to tell you how he felt about you, trying to come up with ways to tell you.
"(Y/n), you're the most beautiful girl I've ever known and- no," he shook his head, "no that's cheesy."
"I can't get you out of my mind, and it's driving me crazy," he ran his fingers through his hair, "no that's just, no."
You hid around the corner, as you had just gotten to his house, but you were used to letting yourself in since the two of you were so close. You bit your lip and smiled as you listened to him confess his love to you from the other room.
He looked at himself in the mirror and sighed out of frustration, "(y/n), I'm just so in love with you," he breathed.
You smiled uncontrollably as you let those last words ring through your head.
You were so caught up that you didn't even notice the words spilling out of your mouth, "I'm so in love with you, Syd."
His head whipped around to the wall you were behind. He slowly walked over to it, careful not to make a sound as he did so.
He put his ear to the wall as he spoke, "Say it again."
Your eyes opened wide as you peeked your head around the corner to find him leaning against the wall, his eyes full of excitement.
"I'm so in love with you," you whispered.
He grabbed your wrist and dragged you over to him. He gently pushed you against the wall and pressed his lips to yours. It was a long kiss, and you let yourself fall into him, wrapping your arms around his neck happily.
He pulled away after a little while and let out a deep breath, "Thank God."
