Imagine John being at rehearsal with the guys, but instead of music, all he could think about was you. He was quite nervous actually as he picked at his bass, going over his plan for the night. He bit his lip as he tried to think positively about things, but he was so overwhelmed with fear and excitement and so many other feelings about the whole ordeal.

"Well I think that's good for today," Pete said as he set his guitar down, "we've got all the songs down perfectly, the tour's gonna be great, so let's go celebrate!"

Keith jumped up and clapped his hands together happily, "That's what I've been waiting to hear all day," he said, earning a laugh from the guys, "John, you're coming, yeah?"

John shook his head and they all groaned in disappointment, "What? You've got to, it won't be a proper celebration without our favorite bass player," Pete said as he patted him on the back.

"Well, if all goes as planned, we can have an even bigger celebration tomorrow," he said as he grabbed his car keys and got ready to leave.

"What's that mean? What plan?" Keith asked as he sat back down at his drums and rested his chin in his hands with a curious expression.

John pulled out the little box with a nervous smile and held it up for them to see as he swung his jacket over his shoulder.

Their eyes widened as they registered what he meant, "Bloody hell, you're actually gonna do it!" Pete said.

"Never thought I'd see the day," Keith said as he jumped up to give John a hug, "Entwistle tying the knot!"

"Well, she's got to say yes first," John said with a laugh as they all hugged and patted him.

"How could she resist?" Roger said with a wink.

John let out a laugh and looked at them all smiling at him, "Well, wish me luck then," he said before he headed to the door.

Before he left, he found a phone and dialed you up, nervously awaiting your voice on the other end.

"Hello?"

"(Y/n), it's John," he said, smiling at the sound of your voice, "I was wondering, would you mind taking a little trip tonight?"

You lit up at the idea and agreed.

"Great, I'll be picking you up in a bit."

He drove to the house, stopping in front to watch you skip out to join him. He smiled as he quickly checked to see if the little box was still in his pocket. It was, and he felt those butterflies swarm his stomach as he realized this wasn't just a dream.

"So," you said as you jumped into the car seat next to him, "where are we going?"

He raised his eyebrows with that little smirk of his, "It's a surprise," he said before he drove off.

Before he knew it, the little spot he'd picked out was only about a moment away.

"Oh, close your eyes, love," he said.

You rolled your eyes with a smile and put your hands over them, "Happy?"

"Very."

He parked in a spot and got out to walk around and open your door, "Keep your eyes close, I've got you," he said as he took your hands and led you to the front of the car.

He let you lean against the hood and he smiled as he took a moment to study you in the fading light of the sunset. He took a deep breath, pulled out the little box once again and got down on one knee.

"(Y/n)," he said softly.

"Yes?" You replied, your hands still covering your face.

"You can open your eyes now," he said, feeling his stomach twist in excitement as he watched you uncover your eyes, which went wide with joy as you saw the sight that laid before you.

John was on one knee, holding up the most beautiful ring you'd ever seen, with a view of the sunset just behind him. You felt happy tears well up in your eyes as you covered your mouth and tried to keep from jumping up and down.

John smiled as he felt all that nervousness from before disappear as he looked up at you, "(y/n), I don't want to spend a day of my life without you by my side, because really life is almost pointless without someone like you to amaze me the way you do," he let out a little laugh as he heard you stifle a squeal of excitement, "will you marry me?"

You nodded and he stood up immediately to catch you in his arms.

"Yes," you basically sobbed into his shoulder as he held you tightly to him, "of course I will."

He kissed the side of your head and felt the happiest feeling in the world well up in him as he stood there holding onto his wife to be.
