I'll Call This: Rachel's Attempt At A Motivational Speech

Okay so I have never subjected you guys to a rant, but I think this needs to be said. Its time for a change in the music industry. We need some kind of stir up, something we can all get behind, you know? I don't know, maybe it's because I've been watching all these old interviews of Johnny Rotten or Joe Strummer, but these bands and musicians that we read about, look up to, listen to, they had such passion for the music and the movement they were creating. And where is that today? I know there are talented musicians out there somewhere working their asses off to inspire and rile up other people. I know some of you guys are musicians who are doing just that and it's so sad that for some stupid reason it's ten times harder for us to get out there. Maybe I'm ranting because I'm scared about being in this industry, but I'm also so ready to at least try to make a change. I mean why not right? All these dudes in this book and the women of rock really fought hard for what they had to say, and what they believed in and I think it's time young musicians came around and made them proud. Just show them that we heard them, that we won't let that passion die out with them. I mean, every damn time I blast any of these bands in my car or around my house I can't help but grab my guitar, jump around, sing as loud as I can with them and feel like I really need to work and get moving and I know it's the same for you guys who are musicians on here.

Music is an outlet for joy, rage, sorrow and passion. It's not just something to make money off of and that's not to say there aren't good artists in pop culture right now. But I think we can all agree there's more talent in Jimmy Page's left pinky than in most pop singers.

So let's just take that leap, support each other and be the counterculture that our generation so desperately needs right now.

Because, I don't know about you guys, but I'm ready.

So, thanks to you guys who read this little piece of what's on my mind right now. I'm interested in hearing you guy's thoughts too, because I think this classic rock fan base is the coolest thing that's ever happened, and I think we all feel the same way to a degree. Plus, any of you who are musicians, tell me! Cause I'm ready to support you guys. And you'll be hearing more about my band on here as soon as we get this thing moving a little bit more.

We're all a team here, and this great big thing that we love called Rock 'n Roll, be it classic rock, punk rock or psychedelic, it  isn't dead, it's just starting up again.
