Eric rolled out of bed already in a bad mood as he made his way into the kitchen.

"Hey, make some coffee," he heard Carrie say through a yawn.

He let out a sigh and rolled his eyes as he did what she asked. He opened the cabinet to grab a cup for himself but, he stopped when he saw something that made his heart sink. He pulled out your favorite coffee cup, a sad smile creeped across his face as he thought of you. Your eyes, your smile, the way you used to wake him up in the mornings by petting his hair, softly running your fingers through it until he awoke with a smile of his own.

"Hey hurry up with the coffee," Carrie yelled from the bedroom, knocking him out of his trance.

"I have to run an errand, make your own damn coffee," he said as he grabbed his coat.

"Fine, and don't bother coming back with that attitude," she yelled as she walked into the room to catch him running out the door.

"Don't worry, I won't come back at all," he said under his breath, causing her to curse him as he left.

He hopped in his car and sped to his destination, his heart racing and his stomach filling with butterflies while he thought of what he would say, how he could make this any better. He took a deep breath as he parked the car and stepped out. He made his way to your door, still not knowing what to say, but knowing he had to do something. He knocked and before he could turn back you opened up. You stared at him, refusing to be the one to break the silence that filled the still morning air in between the two of you.

"(Y/n)," he said softly.

"What do you want, Eric?" You asked, trying to keep yourself from looking as heartbroken as you felt.

"You want me to be honest?"

"Really? Honesty coming from you for once would be nice," you said as you folded your arms and leaned against your door frame, waiting patiently for him to speak.

"You. I want you."

You felt your armor being pierced as he looked at you with his desperate eyes.

"I made a mistake, so many mistakes, but I'm so sorry, (y/n)," he said as he moved closer to you, noting with sad eyes that you moved away from him, "I love you so much. My life feels wrong without you."

"Eric," you said, your voice cracking through your newly formed tears that you tried desperately to hide, "how the hell do you expect me to forgive you? I mean after every single thing you put me through, all the women, all the lies, the drugs, drinking, I mean how? Tell me, how do you expect me to do that?"

"I don't," he said softly, "and I realize you may never. But I couldn't stand the thought of you not knowing how much I care, and believe me, I only care about you."

You were silent after he finished speaking, letting your tears stream freely now as you stared him.

"I really do love you, but I won't bother you anymore, (y/n)," he said before he turned and began to walk away.

"Wait," you said through a sob you watched him turn back around with that same sad expression.

You couldn't stop yourself from running to him now and he caught you with open arms, holding you tight as your lips met his. You kissed him as hard as you could, trying to ignore the hot tears that still fell down your face as his lips moved against yours.

"Damn it, Eric," you said in between kisses as he lifted you up so you could wrap your legs around his waist, "I hate you."

He began to carry you back into your house, his lips refusing to leave yours even just once, he barely pulled away as he breathed, "I love you."
