Imagine Pete being super nervous to go out on a date with you. It was one thing to ask you out but he didn't imagine it'd be even more nerve wracking actually going. He spent most of the day rummaging around his room to find the perfect outfit to wear while Keith, Roger and John all laughed at him.

"Oh stop it! You don't understand how difficult this is," he said, not even bothering to look at them while he pulled out two nice button down shirts.

"Pete, I think you're overthinking this," Roger said as he watched Pete hold both of the shirts up in front of the mirror.

"You think?" Keith scoffed as he tried to suppress his laughter.

"Oh hush!" Pete whined as he flew around to look at them, "What do ya think of these two?"

"I think you can't wear both-" Keith started but stopped when he saw the look on Pete's face.

"The blue one works," John mumbled, giving Pete a reassuring nod.

Pete quickly threw it over his head and turned back to the mirror to fix his hair. He let out a deep breath and studied himself for a moment.

"You look dashing, Pete," Keith said, throwing him a wink, "(y/n) won't be able to resist."

"Well, I guess I'll be off now," he said, scratching the back of his head nervously as the boys all gave him a pat on the back.

He arrived at your door a few minutes later, took a deep breath and knocked. You frantically checked your mirror to make sure you looked as pretty as a picture. Pete had no idea you were just as nervous as he was. You came face to face with the door, took a deep breath and opened it. You felt yourself blush when you saw Pete standing there, looking as handsome as ever holding a bouquet of flowers for you.

"Hello, (y/n)," he said with a shy smile."

"Hello, Pete."

And as the night went on, the two of you didn't feel so nervous anymore.
By the end of the night you found yourself on your doorstep again, twiddling your house keys in your hands as you stood in front of Pete.

"Well," Pete said, kicking the ground with his feet as he shoved his hands in his pocket.

He looked so cute and you wanted him to do it so badly, but you knew he was too shy to kiss you.

You smiled up at him sweetly, "I'd really love to do this again sometime, Pete," you said, still beaming up at him.

You saw his cheeks turn red as his eyes lit up at your sentence, "I-Uhm. Really?"

You giggled at his disbelief and boyish awkwardness.

You nodded your head, "Of course."

"Good," he said, biting his bottom lip as he smiled down at you, "well, I guess this is goodnight then?"

"I guess so," you sighed.

"Bye, (y/n)," he said quietly.

"Bye, Pete."

And with that he turned on his heel and began to walk off. You turned, somewhat disappointed as you went to unlock your door.

"Uhm, (y/n)?"

You turned around again, "Hmm?"

And then you felt butterflies swarm your stomach as Pete's lips met yours. His hands gently held your face in place as you melted into his kiss. He pulled away and his eyes met yours, making the two of you giggle quietly.

His hands still held your face as he spoke, "Well, I guess that was goodnight again?"

You laughed, "I guess so."

A smile tugged at the corner of his lips as his eyes wandered over your face.

"Goodnight, (y/n)," he whispered before he gave you one last soft kiss and walked off into the night, leaving you with the biggest smile on your face.

"Goodnight," you said to yourself before you unlocked your door, shut it behind you and let yourself fall into a fit of excited giggles, Pete doing the exact same thing once he got back to his house.

I think I smiled the entire time I wrote this☺️
