Imagine moving into a new apartment with your boyfriend Pete. The two of you walked in the door to see the barren and spacious rooms of your new home just waiting to be decorated. There was one mattress in the middle of the floor for the two of you to sleep on until furniture and things were ready to be put in. Pete set down his bags and gave you a warm smile.
"Can't believe you and I are finally getting to live together. I officially get you all to myself now," he said as he walked over and wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you into him with a smile across his face.
The thought of finally getting to fall asleep and wake up next to Pete every morning made you blush as you looked up at him, matching his smile.
"It's going to be something, isn't it?"
"I think so, although, you'll have to put up with all my shenanigans, if you can handle it," he teased.
"Oh, believe me, you don't know shenanigans until you've lived with me," you laughed back.
Both of you stood there laughing for quite some time, just happy to be with each other and alone. Of course you and Pete had had alone time in the past, but this felt different. It really felt like it was finally just the two of you, no one threatening to barge in at any given moment, no one to interrupt you. Just you and him. You leaned your head on his shoulder as he began to sway both of you back and forth.
"So what should we do first," you said through a yawn.
Pete smiled and placed a kiss on your head, "First, you should get some sleep," he said as he walked you over to the mattress on the floor, "you're exhausted."
You couldn't deny it, you were. It had been a long flight over and tons of errands had been run, you were definitely ready to rest. So Pete helped you into the bed and you sprawled out on it. He let out a laugh and went to grab you a blanket. When he came back you were just starting to fall asleep. He carefully placed the blanket over you, but before he could pull away, you reached out and pulled him down with you. He laughed as you snuggled up to him, hugging him tightly to you where you laid.
"I was going to do some unpacking for you," Pete laughed.
You shook your head, "It can wait, I want this right now," you said as you have him a little squeeze.
He smiled down at you and gladly held you to him as he drifted off to sleep with you in his arms.
