Imagine falling asleep on your couch one night and having a bad dream. You tossed and turned, trying to call for help, but no one seemed to hear. Suddenly, you heard your boyfriend Keith calling your name from a distance. You calmed down as you followed his voice, looking around for any sign of him.
"(Y/n), darling, wake up, it's only a dream," you heard him say as you blinked yourself awake.
He reached his hand up to move your hair out of your face, "There you are," he said with a smile, "are you alright?"
You took a deep breath to shake off the fright of your nightmare and nodded, "Yeah, just a bad dream, that's all."
He smiled and placed a kiss on your forehead, "Let's get you back to bed then," he said as he wrapped you up in his arms and carried you to your bedroom.
You sleepily wrapped your arms around his neck and leaned your head against his bare chest, already beginning to fall back asleep in his arms. You felt him gently lay you down on the bed and place a blanket on top of you. He walked around to the other side and crawled in. You moved closer and gave him some of the blankets.
"Come here, you're too far away," he whispered as he pulled you closer to him so he could wrap his arms around you.
He was so warm and his soft breaths and quiet beat of his heart soothed you like a lullaby.
"Better?" He asked quietly.
You nodded your head as you snuggled closer to his chest, causing him to let out a sleepy laugh.
"I love you."
"I love you more," he breathed as he began to drift off to sleep with you in his arms.
