Natural Hair Struggles

I'm pretty sure we all have struggles with our natural hair. Curly and kinky hair is hard to manage, right? I know I definitely have mine so I'll share mine with y'all and then y'all can elaborate on ones I have presented and maybe add some that you have.

Dryness

I know I am not the only one whose hair is dry and gets dry. And trust when it does, that hoe be dry asf. Like grandma coochie dry. My hair sucks in moisture quick and require a lot. Too bad I am too lazy to moisturize it everyday (which I will discuss later)

Although having dry ass hair is aggy, nothing is more aggy than some greasy ass hair. And 9/10, there's no in between for me. Either my hair is dry asf or too greasy from too much products. I just can't be great.

"Dime-sized" Amount

At first, I thought I was the only idiot who didn't go by this rule. My hair is wayy too thick and dirty to be using a dime size. Sometimes I be feeling like I'm using too much shampoo/conditioner, but I'd rather have too much than too little.

But don't even worry bc soon I'll be salty asf when I go into the shower about to wash my hair just to discover I have no more conditioner. -.- sometimes it be shampoo and rarely it's both. I just be like

"Fuck my life bro!"

YouTube Fails

I am nowhere NEAR skilled when it comes to doing hair. I don't know what I'll do in the future when I live alone. But I remember back in my DIY days, I used to always do shit I saw on YouTube. Since I fucking suck at doing hair, I would watch videos and then try the hairstyles they did.

I have done pin curls, roller sets, flat twists (BITCH THAT WAS A FUNKY ASS MESS), three-strand twist, braidouts, allat. I will say tho that when my hair was relaxed, my fails didn't look half as bad as they did with my natural hair. I did the three-strand twists on my relaxed hair and it failed, but I was rocking this super cute VERY SMALL curly fro that I received hella compliments on.

Now I don't even try anymore. I just ask my sister or mom to put my hair in a style. I can't take anymore L's from that.

Detangling

Probably the biggest natural hair struggle and usually the most relatable. My arms and fingers hurt from playing in my damn hair for 30 minutes straight. And I hate when my hair tangles which makes it even more difficult to detangle. It hurts like fuck too. When I was little, I used to literally think my momma was trying to rake my hair off my fucking scalp. It's just so annoying.

Shrinkage

My worst enemy. I swear my hair just shrinks up. Sometimes I be thinking these hoes got me ALL the way fucked up thinking I'm bald headed. Nah bitch, this humidity got me lacking boo. Worry about them edges that still haven't grown back since '99.

Anyways, I hate when my afro be big and popping then soon as I step outside, it gets smaller. I just hate it so much. And when I feel my hair, my curls have literally coiled amongst itself. Bitch you better drop down. Tf

Edge Control

I swear it's only me. Edge control does not work for me at all. Seriously. It's a damn shame. It don't even look right,especially since my hair is very frizzy. It makes me look so damn crazy and then my edges be looking greasy asf. I hate it. That's why I stopped using it. Ain't no edges on fleek bih.

Laziness

I am too lazy to moisturize my hair every night. I am too lazy to comb my hair every night. It always comes to bite me in the ass. My hair be looking a HOT ASS MESS the next morning/day. I'm even too lazy to put my hair into very versatile styles. Most of the time it looks shitty anyways, so I just put my hair into a puff.

Frizziness

I think i just made that word but my hair is SOO frizzy. It's just naturally frizzy and to me, it makes most hairstyles not look so professional and slayed bc it's frizzy. I can't be the only one with this struggle. It feels like I am tho.

Okay that's it. It's literally 4 in the morning as I am typing this. I am tired asf. I been watching movies ALL day today.

In my opinion, Fifty Shades of Grey is so BORING. Ugh. I didn't even watch the end. That's how bored I was. And I saw Straight Outta Compton. That movie is so good. On God. Other movies I watched are like old ass classics. And you know I watched Boyz In Tha Hood.

If you know me, I LOVE THAT FUCKING MOVIE. I could watch it over and over and over. Never gets old. Plus, Nia Long looks so adorable in that movie. Gosh.
