My mom knocked on the door so I opened it. "What's wrong?", she said while placing her hand on my shoulder. "I don't know...I miss ho-", I couldn't even finish my sentence without bursting into tears. She hugged me tight and softly whispered, "You'll be fine. You'll love it here in a matter of seconds. By the way we're leaving in 40 mins". She gave me a kiss on my forehead and smiled as she walked away. I shut off the lights, and closed the door behind me. I walked to tías room to put on my burgundy sk8 hi vans. Then, I walked downstairs and noticed that there was a woman talking with my mom and tía in the dining room. I immediately went up to greet her. "Hi! I'm Julissa", I gave her an awkward hug since she was sitting. "Hi! You can call me Mrs.Selman", she responded with a big grin. "Do you know where your (what I assumed to be) your son is?", I asked guiltily. "Uh, he's outside", she spoke. I rushed and opened the door and saw him sitting on the bench by himself. I sat down on the other side of the bench and gave him an intense stare.
"Hey, I-uh...I'm sorry for doing what I did...", I whispered while twirling my fingers around. "I-uh...I just moved here and I'm kind of missing home and-", I felt a warm tear run down my face. He turned to face me and looked into my eyes. His eyes were so interesting. They were like two separate oceans, yet so similar. He leaned forward and gave me a hug. Gosh he smelled sooo, goood. He rubbed my back and let go. I didn't realize it but I gave him a disappointed look. "What? you didn't expect me to let go so quickly, did you?", he smirked and winked at me which made my cheeks flush bright red. "What?...n-no", I stuttered sounding so retarded. He leaned in and wiped my tears, then chuckled a, "haha". His laugh was priceless. I brought my legs up and threw my arms around them then suddenly placing my chin on my knees. Oh and I thought Florida was hot, my mistake because it was so cold and my dumbass decided to wear a sleeveless shirt. He took off his dark green-ish jacket right before my eyes and placed it on me. It was so warm and it was so cozy. "Thanks", I told him while trying to get eye contact, though he wouldn't look. He then took out a phone from his pocket. An iPhone 6s with a black case that had stars on it and a quote that read, "But without the dark, we'd never see the stars". It was my favorite quote ever. "Heh, that looks a lot like my phone", I confessed. "Maybe cause it is your phone?", he said giggling. I gave him the deepest stare ever. "No password? Nice.", he softly spoke. He turned around so I wouldn't see what he was doing. "Give me my phone back!", I pouted. "Fineee,
you're no fun", he passed over my phone and our hands touched. His hands were so warm yet mine so cold. He gazed into my eyes and smiled and I finally saw his teeth clearly (not that I really wanted to pshh). He was just perfect.
To kill the mood, my mom stepped out with my aunt's car keys in her hand. "We're leaving, c'mon."
