The begining of a disaster

I was sitting in the bay window with Riley when we heard someone come in the living room. "Josh this is unexpected." we heard Mr. Matthews say. Riley goes to greet her uncle and I follow slowly behind. "Uncle josh!" she gives him a hug then steps back. He looks back at Matthews. "Well I kinda need to talk to you alone if you don't mind." Cory looks over at Riley and me. "Girls do you mind taking Auggie back to your room?" Riley then guides Augie back to her room. Riley and him sit on her bed but I take a seat at the window. Augie looks up at Riley. "What do you think their talking about?" Riley shrugs. "I don't know." she then tells Augie to stay put and then exits the room. I follow her. "Riles what are you doing?" she sticks to the wall. "Shhhh!! I don't want to get caught." I stand next to her and we begin to listen in to their conversation. "Cory I messed up. I really messed up." josh says. Cory reassures him. "Josh I'm your brother. You can tell me anything." Josh takes a deep breathe. "I-I...... Got a girl pregnant." Riley's jaw drops. I pull her away. "We shouldn't be listening in like this." Riley pulled her arm away. "I can't believe he did this! Who's the girl I wonder?" she walks back to where she was. I walk back into her room and sit back down at the window. A moment later Riley walks back in. "Oh Maya I'm so sorry. I know how much you liked him." she sits down and wraps her arms around me. I wipe away my tears. "It was just a crush anyways right?" she nods. "Right peaches." I look down at my phone and realize that I am past my curfew. "I better get home before my mom starts to worry." I exit the room and enter the living room. I stop for a moment when their conversation comes to a halt. "Night Mr. Matthews. Josh." I can feel them staring at me as I walk to the door but I don't turn around. I can't look at Josh right now. Not after what he did.

The following morning I go up to the Matthews at 7 o'clock as usual, trying not act like the whole Josh thing is bothering me even, though it is. Riley opens the door. "Morning. Let me grab my shoes." I walk inside and close the door. Topanga walks in. "Hi Maya. You want some breakfast?" I shake my head. "No thanks Mrs. Matthews I already had breakfast." I sit down on the couch and she joins. "So how you doing with the whole Josh thing?" I look over at her. "Hu?" she scoffs. "I know you know Maya. I saw you and Riley ease dropping last night." I sigh. "Yeah I'm doing fine. Did he happen to tell Matthews who the girl is?" she shakes her head. "No. Probably the most recent girl he was talking about." my brow wrinkles. "Who?" she thinks for a moment. "I think her name was Pennie." I nod. "Pennie. Hu." Riley comes back out. "Ready?" I stand up. "Yeah I'm ready." I grab my bag and follow Riley out the door.
