Why Him?

Comes back to bite

     We sit and watch tv for a while only talking here and there. I didn't even realize that he is sitting so close to me. When did that happen? I go to move away when I feel his arm wrap around my shoulder. I turn to tell him to remove it but before I can his lips are on mine. I want to pull away. But something's different. I notice myself kissing him back in stead of pulling away. After about a minute or so I pull back. "What is wrong with you!?!" I stand up and move about ten feet away from him. He stands up. "You kissed me back!" I throw my hands in the air. "I'm a pregnant teenager! My hormones are out of wack! You don't have an excuse. I told you this is never going to happen. Why can't you get over this?!" he steps closer to me. "I like you Maya. I like you a lot. And I'm not just going to give up." I cross my arms. "Well you should give up. You not only dated my best friend but you hurt her as well. I'm dating Josh. And I'm happy with Josh. If you really like me then you should want me to be happy. Even if its not with you. And let me assure you that it won't be." I grab his jacket and hand it to him. "I think its best if you leave." he grabs his jacket and exits the door. A half hour later I get a call from Riley. As much as I don't want to talk to her she deserves a chance. One chance.

M- Hello?

R- How could you?

M- Excuse me?

R- How could you! You know how much I liked Lucas and yet you let him kiss you?

M- How did you find that out?

R- I have my sources.

M- Look Riley it was just a peck and I didn't even kiss him back. I was half asleep. He kissed me.

R- What about the second time?

M- That just happened how on earth do you know about that?!

R- I came back to your apartment to apologize for what I said because I knew I was wrong. The door was unlocked so I opened it. The first thing I see is y'all kissing. How could you?

M- Riley I

She hangs up. And just like that I'm in the wrong. A sit there for a while thinking about calling her back. She won't answer though. I gotta see her. I leave my apartment and head to Riley's. When I get there she opens the door but I start talking before she can say anything. "Riley I am so sorry you know I would never-" I stop talking when she opens the door more and I see Josh standing there. "Josh what are you doing here?" Riley looks over at me. "He deserved to know." he walks out the door and past me. I grab his arm. "Josh wait let me explain!" he turns around. "You don't keep secrets hu?" I let go and he walks away. I turn back to Riley. "You had no right to tell him! Its my business not yours!" she shakes her head. "No Maya. It affects him and I. Making it our business." tears start pouring down my face. "You weren't even talking to him an hour ago and what suddenly you care about what affects him!?! Or do just care about how he affects me." she crosses her arms. "You didn't care about your consequences. I don't care about mine." she slams the door in my face and I'm left in an empty hall way with no one to talk to.
