Why Him?

Rain come down

     How could I have been so stupid? To think that he suggested we take a break for my sake when really it was for his. He didn't want to be with me. He wanted options. I'm the one with the real burden. I can't just walk away from it all. He wanted away from me. I should've known better. I haled a cab and got inside. As soon as I shut the door Josh ran over and started knocking on the window. "Maya please talk to me. Let me explain. Maya please!" I stare forward. "Drive please." the driver pulls out into the street. I look back and see Josh standing there watching the car drive away. I get back home and I just sit. I would've went to Riley but its her uncle. I don't want her thinking badly of him. I would have gone to Farkle but he hardly speaks to me anymore. And well I don't want Lucas to know. I guess my life will forever be a complicated mess.

     A week goes by and I am now unable to attend school since I have reached 30 weeks. Of course the school work followed me home. I haven't spoken to Josh. I know at some point I'm going to have to because of our situation but just not yet. I can't face him. Its 3:30 and Riley and them just got out of school. Riley invited me to come over but I declined. As I'm sitting on the couch someone knocks at the door. I get up and open the door to see Farkle standing there. "Farkle? What are you doing here?" he gives a small smile. "We haven't hung out in a while. And I'm sorry. Do you maybe want to go for a walk?" I smile. "Yeah that would be nice." I grab my jacket and head out the door.

     I know most women wouldn't exactly want to go for when their 30 weeks pregnant but it doesn't bother me that much. I actually feel best when I'm up and walking around. We go to the local park and just walk in silence for a while. We stop at park bench to take in the beautifully rainy day. Farkle is the first to break the silence. "So how are you Maya?" I shrug. "Besides being knocked up? I'm okay." he gives a small laugh. "How are you and Josh?" my smile fades but I try to fake one. "Josh and I? Oh we're great! You know same old same old." he gives me a sympathetic look. "Maya I know." my brow wrinkles. "Know what?" "That something happened with you and Josh. He called Riley and asked her to see if she could get you to talk to him. He sounded really upset." I shake my head pushing the tears back. "Oh well. He should be upset." I stand back up. "Come on lets keep walking." he stands up. "Maya your one of my best friends. I hate seeing you upset. If you want to talk about then talk. Whatever will make you feel better." "What will make me happy is not talking about it Farkle." he nods. "Okay." we start to walk when I get this sharp pain in my back. I instantly clutch onto Farkle's arm. "Ow!!" he turns back to me. "Whats wrong?!" the pain stops and I look down to see a puddle beneath me. I panic inside and am not able to get any words out. He looks at me. "Maya I think your water just broke. We need to get you to a hospital." I shake my head. "No..... No its too early!" he doesn't listen to me but continues to make the call.
