I wake up to Josh and my mom sitting in the room. Its extremely silent. I go to sit up too fast and quickly remember my two broken ribs. "Ow!" Josh and my mom come running. "Whats wrong?" the both say in sync with each other. I lay back down. "Nothing. I just moved too fast. I'm fine." they both sigh in relief. After a moment Josh leaves the room and my mom takes the opportunity to talk to me. "You know what you did last night was completely out of line." I sigh. "Mom look, I know what your going to say. 'You should've never done that. You put yourself in danger. Your lucky nothing more happened to you. And whats the matter with you getting yourself pregnant! Have you lost your mind!' I don't want to hear it mom. Okay. I'm sorry! I know what I did was stupid but I can't change it. Either of the stupid things I did. I am so terrified of whats going to happen. And the only person who's been slightly helpful during this is Josh. When you freaked out last night, like I expected you to, I couldn't do it. I couldn't stay there and face you as the disappointment that I know I am to you." she sits down on the bed.

"Ok so maybe I was going to say those things. But honey no matter what you do I will always love you. You could never be a disappointment. You've made some bad decisions but don't we all? Your lucky that your okay because when you left the house last night you not only put yourself in danger but you also put your child in danger. You could've lost him or her last night. Just because you weren't thinking about the consequences. Your pregnant now. Your going to be a mother soon enough. You have to start handling these situations like an adult. And when you need help I'm going to be right there beside you. Because your always going to be my baby girl. And I'm never going to let you fall." she then lightly hugs me trying to avoid the bruises and broken ribs. As my mom pulls away the doctor walks in. "Okay so after looking over everything we want to keep you here for a couple weeks. Just to make sure everything's alright." I sigh. "I have to stay here for two weeks. Sounds delightful." he laughs. "You won't have to go to school." I smile. "I'm sold!" my mom raises her eyebrow at me but I just avoid eye contact.

The weeks go by fast and I can finally leave. My mom had to go to work this morning so she already checked me out but Josh came in this morning to take me home. I had just got done changing when Josh walks through the door. "Good morning Ms. Hart." I stand up. "Ever heard of knocking?" he gives a small laugh. "Its not like I would've seen something that I haven't seen before." I shoot him a glare. "Just grab my bags you moron." I snatch my phone and then follow Josh out the door. He drives me back to my place and as soon as we come in, I plop down on the couch. He sets my bags by the door. "Happy to be home?" I nod. "Yes. If I had to listen to one more story from that darn nurse I would've ripped my ears off!" he laughs then walks over and sits down next to me. "How are you Maya?" I sit up. "I'm fine." he grabs my hand. "You sure?" I nod. "Yeah. I'm fine." he kisses me on the forehead. "Okay. Well I gotta go or I'll be late for class. Call me if you need anything." I smile and watch as he walks out the door.
