The difference

The rest of the day is just weird. I hoped that they wouldn't treat me differently but they are. Well except Riley. But Farkle, Smackle, Zay, and Lucas are. I knew they would. As soon as the bell rings I start walking home. Riley tries to runs after me. "Hey slow down!" she catches up. "Whats wrong?" I stop. "Whats wrong? Whats wrong is that nothings the same. And nothings going to be the same." she shrugs. "What do mean?" I throw my hands in the air. "I'm pregnant Riley. You know it. Our friends know it. And their treating me differently because of it. They think of me differently now. And I'm sure even your parents think of me differently. " Riley stays silent. So I continue. "I don't know what to do Riley. This whole thing is overwhelming enough. I guess I was just hoping that I could count on my friends to be there for me." I walk away and she doesn't follow. When I get home to my surprise, my mom is there. "What are you doing here?" she turns around. "I got the rest of the evening off. How was school?" I toss my bag down. "I really don't want to talk about school." she walks over to me. "Well I have something I want to talk about." I walk over and sit on the couch. "What?" she sits down next to me. "Whats your plan Maya?" I shrug. "Plan for what?" she sighs. "The baby. You have got to have a plan." I wrinkle my brow. "What do I need to plan for?" she laughs. "Well if your keeping the baby you gotta plan stuff like money to afford its necessities, daycare, custody between you and Josh, and a lot of other things. Or if you want to give it up for adoption you need to find a couple, talk to Josh and see what he wants to do. You can't just wait until the baby gets here and then decide. You need to figure out a plan." I sit back. "I didn't think about all that. I guess I'll talk to Josh." she nods. "Yes. Then come and talk to me." I go into my room and close the door. I lay on my bed for a while. My phone goes off and instantly snaps me out of my thoughts. I look to see who it is. Riley.

R- the gang is heading to Topanga's to hang out and do some homework. You coming?

M- no

R- come Maya. Please come.

M- sorry riles. Its just too weird.

R- no its not. It was one time. I'm sure it'll be better.

M- fine. But if its not any better I'm leaving.

R- yay! I'll see you there

I put my shoes on and head to Topanga's. When I come in Riley and Farkle are the first ones there. I sit down next to Riley. "Hey." Farkle looks up from his book. "Hey." we continue to do homework as the rest of the gang arrives. Its been about an hour of homework so we decide to take a break. It seems mostly normal. Everyone talking and laughing. Its nice. We're all having a good time and just when I think everything's going to be fine, Josh walks in.
