Hospital talks

After talking for a moment I recall how my mom isn't in here. "Where's my mom?" he motions out the door. "She's talking with Topanga. She needed a moment to cool down." I wrinkle my brow. "From what?" he sighs. "That waiting room has been stressful. Between my brother, Riley, your mom, and your friends." I throw my head back. "Their all here?!? Ugh. I can't deal with this now. I just can't. That's why I was leaving last night but of course that doesn't even work out for me." he looks over at me. "That's why you were out there? You were running away?" I nod. "Yeah thats why." he stands up then sits back down on the bed next to me. "Maya, we got ourselves into a serious situation. And we have to handle it just as seriously. Running away isn't going to make the problem better. Just worse as I'm sure You Can tell. I know your just a teenager. So am I but in the situation we're in, we need to handle it like adults." he kisses the top of my head when Riley walks in. Josh leaves and she takes his place on the bed. I am the first to speak. "I didn't think you would come." she stares blankly at the ground. "You were hurt Maya why wouldn't I come?" I shrug. "You just seemed kind of mad at me yesterday." she shakes her head. "I'm not mad Maya. I'm just disappointed. I'm disappointed that you got yourself pregnant. I'm disappointed that you didn't come to me the minute you found out you were. I'm disappointed that you wouldn't even tell me. I'm disappointed that you wouldn't think that I could have helped you during all of this." she looks me with tears in her eyes. "We're best friends Maya. And this isn't how you should treat your best friend. Your going through something hard and I should be able to be there for you." I go to hug her But my broken ribs won't allow me. So I grab her hand. "Riley I'm so sorry. Its just this is so much for me to take in. I'm terrified. And I was just so scared that you would look at me differently after you found out. And I just couldn't loose you." she gently squeezes my shoulder. "I don't look at you differently. I only see you as my best friend."

Before either of us can say anything else my mom walks in. "Riley can I have a minute only with Maya?" Riley nods. "Yeah sure." she exits and my steps forward. "I have no idea where to start." the doctor then walks in. "I hate to be the bearer of bad news but Ms. Hart needs to get some rest." my mother then looks over at the doctor. "Thats not bad news. She rest all she wants when I'm done talking to her." the doctor then pulls her aside to talk to her. I can't hear what is said though. My mother then walks over to me. "I'm happy your okay Maya but we have some very serious matters to discuss later." she kisses my forehead then leaves the room. After that I slowly drift off.
