Rattle
Just burn him and take the boat!!! Gazra yelled in my mind.
"For the 17th time NO. I'm not going to kill him........no matter how temping it is." I thought to the pit fiend.
We've been going around the docks all day, trying to find someone willing to take us Azir. Unfortunately, the people we met either said it was 'full' or wasn't taking any passengers. But we knew what they were really saying.
The horses faded when we arrived at the town, and when we entered the guards were more than surprised when they saw a kobold and two serpentfolk enter there town. The guards seemed to be around every corner we went, with there hands on their sword hilts. So far they haven't made a move to attack us yet......so far.
The guy we were talking to was a half-elf, about in his fifty's, with tan skin and light brown hair. Most half-elves can pass as humans, by hiding their pointed ears, but this one didn't. He had his hair in a pony tail, plainly showing his half elven heritage. We have been talking to him for at least 13 minutes, trying to get aboard his ship which he said was a simple food vessel, but wasn't taking anyone for fear of 'contaminating' the excotic foods.
"I'm sorry." He said. "But these foods are very very expensive. You'll have to try some else."
"Buy your the only one left!!" Jamada said. "All the other ones rejected us."
Why even let them live? Gazra said. All of humanity despises you, and could care less if you live or die.
"The ones in Celsteim seemed to like us." Venom though back. "And the ones before that."
That's because you saved their worthless hides! The only reason any of them were nice to you is because you saved their pathetic lives. You should burn all of them!! And start with the half-elf! I'm getting tired of having to listen to him!
"We're not going to burn him!!!" Me and Venom yelled at him telepathically at the same time.
Then if your not going to burn him then check the stupid crates. Gazra said.
"And why would we do that?" I asked.
Look at him when guards walk by.
As if on que, two guards in garments with spears walked past us. The half-elves eyes watched them until they were out of sight. I noticed sweat go down his brow and he looked behind him as a human and a half-orc carried medium sized crates. He quickly turned his attention to Jamada and continued to argue.
Interesting. I thought.
I snuck around the half-elf and walked over to the half-orc who was carrying a crate. I got in front of him and fool looked like he nearly swallowed his tongue. I reached out my hand to take off the lip when he spoke. "Yo-Your not supposed-" but he stopped when I locked eyes with him. I towered over the half-orc, 7ft in height, were as the half-orc was 5 ft. Nothing but pure terror was shown in his eyes. I chuckled evilly in my mind.
I'll make a devil out of you yet. Gazra said.
I opened the crate and realized why the half-elf was so nervous.
"Excotic foods you say?" I said. The half-elf turned around and saw me hold up the lid, and his face paled. In the crate was a holy text book, scrolls with holy symbols, and a few Phrasma necklaces.
I closed the lid and waved the half-orc away, who was eager to get below deck, and I never took my eye off the half-elf.
"I'd say just from that one crate you would get a 8,000 gold piece fine from the Pure Legion ." I said calmly. "If they find out."
I walked up to the nervous half-elf, who seemed to be catching on to what I was getting to.
"Excuse me for one moment." He said, rushing below deck. I placed my hands behind me back, patiently waiting for his return.
"How did you do that?" Jamada asked walking up to me.
"I have my ways." I said.
Your welcome.
The half-elf returned moments later with a fake smile on his face.
"It turns out that we do have room." He said. "You said your destination is Azir?"
We nodded.
"That is our destination as well!" He said. "When do you wish to leave?"
"As soon as possible." I said.
The half-elf turned around and started to yell out in Osiriani, and the crew flew out and started to get the ship ready to sail. Most of them were humans, but I spotted the same half-orc I meet moments ago, and a dwarf. I watched as they worked side by side, getting the main mass undone. It was rather odd, but when you need to make money in the world of Golarion, anything is possible.
Jamada and Venom followed the half-elf down into ship, but I stayed up top, watching the display from the shadows.
"How did you know what was in the crates?" I asked Gazra.
I'm a devil. I can sense holy relics.
"True enough." I said. "And you still haven't told me how your doing this."
Doing what?!
"Talking to me through telepathically." I said. "You haven't until Celsteim, so why now?" Normally when the pit fiend wanted to talk he put us in a comma like state, which would happen about two times a month.
I could already speak telepathically, but I just need some...... assistance, to reach you. Now I don't need to knock you out to talk to you. But I'll still summon you.
"Great." I thought to him. "Who was it anyway that helped? Any why did they help?"
I have my ways. Gazra said mockingly. He then laughed and the voice faded away.
"Gazra! Gazra!" I yelled out telepathically to the devil, but he didn't answer.
"Damn devil." I whispered.
