Rattle
The towns folk were thankful for our help, but didn't do it so enthusiastic as the ones in Celestium.
Part of the reason was people were too busy eating from whatever food was left from the scorpion attack, which was quite a lot.
A few humans came up to me and Venom and thanked us, but I started to get aggravated with how many came so I drove them off with a angry hiss.
Jamada didn't mined the attention, but then again he doesn't get a lot of it either. When he saw how angry I was getting he moved the small group away and into a near by tavern. I then stood there deciding what to do when I realized how hungry I was. It had been a month since we last ate, and our kind normally gorge ourselves when we eat.
We decided to go to a different tavern and get our belly's full.
The tavern we entered was a little full, but not like the one Jamada entered. It wasn't as large either, but I didn't plan on eating at the bar. I walked pass the people clapping and thanking us and gave the bartender, a male half-orc, 20 gold pieces for food and a room for us to eat in.
The half-orc looked at the amount I gave him with a stunned face. "Wha-what would you like to eat?" He asked stuttering.
"Two goblets of wine, some fruit and whatever meat you got." I told him. "And bring however much you can up to the room." I didn't wait to see the stunned look on his face and walked up to the room, were we patiently waited.
A few moments later, the half-orc and three bar maids, one of which was a female tiefling who had two cured red horns on her head, carried in the wine bottle, goblets, bowls of fruit and cooked pork, then asked if it was all and I said no. They brought even more food until we were sure that we would be full. I waved them away, and told them that we would call then if need, and the two of us feasted together. Alone.
Just the way I like it.
It was almost dark when we finished. We like to take our time when we eat and not just stuff it down like most of the mammals do. I decided to go to bed and get an early start on the digestion.
In the morning I thanked the bartender and bar maids and headed out of the tavern.
I thought about looking around for Jamada but I immediately realized that the kobold could be anywhere in the town, so I just decided to let him have his fun.
Besides, I had something in mind I wanted to do.
"Perhaps now we should find somewhere to go that has less mammals around." Venom telpathicly said to me. "I saw a library on the way to the tavern yesterday."
I nodded, knowing the library he was talking about.
"Then let us go." I answered back. "I have a project in mind I think we should get to work on." I looked at Venom and saw him grin, knowing exactly what I was talking about.
We headed down the street a few blocks, before finding the medium sized building. We walked in and found that it was larger on the inside, with four long selves in the middle of the room, a door in the back of the room and a desk off to the left side of the wall. At the desk sat a ratfolk. He had brown fur, gold earrings in his ears, and a purple robe. He looked up from a book he was reading, and his red eyes grew wide.
"Ahh. The two heroes that saved the town. Welcome." The ratfolk said as he came around the desk. He spoke something in gnoll and two gnolls came out the back of the library in blue robes. The two bowed as they approached and got on either side of the ratfolk.
