"I can't believe we're doing this." Jamada said as he got off the phantom steed.

After convincing Jamada, we stayed in town for two days, one of which me and Venom used to quickly look at some spell books I saw while looking for the book that had the map of Rahadoum in it. One of the spells we learned was to each summon a phantom steed, like the ones we rode on to Azir, but we had to picture what it looked like first. The horse Jamada was getting off was mine, which had hellish features, red skin and black flames for a mane and on the hoves. Venoms was like mine, except it had dark blue skin.

"And yet, here we are." I said as me and Venom got off his horse. We each then dispelled the horses away, and looked ahead.

Before us, laid the Eternal Oasis.

It seemed rather odd seeing tall lush trees and bushes appear in the desert, and stranger still, were it came to a blunt end, making a line between desert and forest.

"You didn't use any magic on me to convince me to get here did you?" Jamada asked.

"Of course not." I said. "Your own curiosity brought you here. Plus, if we do succeed, it will be far better than walking."

He nodded, still looking out the Oasis, then started to chuckle.

"That and I may have a chance at seeing a brass dragon." He said. I chuckled as well. In his entire life, Jamada, the brass kobold strangely has not seen a brass dragon, but has seen almost every chromatic and metallic dragons.

"Indeed." I said.

"How are you feeling?" He asked.

"Fine." I told him. When I summoned my phantom steed, Jamada asked why we just couldn't take them and ride to the Shackles. I told him that I grew tired after summoning it (not really), and that it only stayed for about 12 hours and I would have to resummon it.

That, and the gauntlet grew hungry.

It whispered to me, and only me seeing as how I had it, and I could feel the magic continue to build up. It asked to me realise it on the Jamada, and sometimes tried to possess me, but I kept it at bay, for now at least, and I kept giving it promises that I would realise it on a greater foe. So far, it has been working.

"Huuuuuuuuuunnnngry." It whispered to me in Infernal.

You will be feed soon enough. I thought.

"Let us not wait a moment longer." Jamada said. "Lets head into the Oasis and pray that Desna smiles on us."

I chuckled at the thought, as we walked into the Oasis, that the goddess of luck would even consider giving monsters good luck.

Minutes went by as we walked through the forest, with not a sound except the three of us walking on dried leaves and twigs. Eventually, the forest came alive and we started to hear noises of different birds, bugs and other creatures. Jamada, too, eventually started to go off to whatever thing he found interesting, be a planet, bug, or small animal.

More than once he opened up his Black Box device and would take samples of different plants, bugs, and animals....just like I predicted. I lost count how many times he did this, nor did I care. This was his passion, and I respect that, so I let him be.

However, when we came across a area of fungus, growing in different sizes and shapes, I began to grow weary.

"Perhaps we should move through here as fast as possible." I said, but he didn't seem to listen. He walked up to a small mushroom, pulled out his dagger and was was about to carve something out when it jumped out of the ground in front of him.
