The trip was very relaxing.....for me anyway.
The crew was tense during the trip, and would whisper to each other when I would walk by them. I would occasionally cast detect thought to see what they were thinking. Most of them thought why a serpentfolk was headed to Azir, how I found about the holy relics, or if I was part of some secret mission from my homeland to take back a part of the surface for my kind. One person even though about taking a knife out of his belt and stabbing me in the back, but I quickly dismissed that thought by telling him telepathically "That would be unwise mammal, and I promise you the out come will not be pretty." and he went back to cleaning the deck without another thought.
I pasted the time by rereading the books I memorized in my head. Some from my library, and some from Melakus house. I also would occasionally scare some of the crew members, which wasn't very hard, seeing as how they were already nervous. Me and Venom found it entertaining, but Jamada soon told us to stop for fear of that they would 'drop us off' so we stopped, to make him feel better.
Jamada past his time by staying in his room, working on different potions, making bombs and experimenting. When he would come out of his room, it would be either to eat, relieve himself, or to have a small talk with us.
We sailed for 2 weeks on river, when finally we reached Azir.
"There it is." Jamada said, looking at the magnificent city.
The city was large, with beautiful colors on the buildings, and some with improbable angles. Truly a impressive and wonderful sight.
We were half a mile away from the city until the boat stopped.
"Why are we stopping?" Jamada asked Iradli.
"I said I would take you to Azir, but I never said I had to take you to the gates." He said.
"But-" Jamada started to say but I cut him off. I knew why he was doing it.
"He just doesn't want to get attention, from his allies or the guards." I said. Two crew members lowered the plank for us to walk off the ship.
"I'm glad you understand." He said as we walked off the ship. "Now I trust you will keep your end of the bargain."
I didn't answer.
The three of us walked in silence the rest of the half mile to Azir. Once we got to the city we found two human guards at the entrance, in white and gold garments with their swords drawn.
"Halt." One of them yelled. "What purpose brings you here beasts?"
"Ah yes." Jamada started."We were hoping to enter your beloved city so that we may head to the northern region of Golarion. We will be no trouble to you or your city.......if you just let us pass."
The guards looked at each other then back to us.
"No." They said in unison.
"But we-"
"Leave." One of them said threatening, while pointing his sword at him.
I was half tempted to just flat out murder these guys, but I knew Jamada would disapprove. Plus I didn't want the whole guards from the city chasing after us, so I kept my anger in check.
"It's ok Jamada." I said. "We can try somewhere else."
We left the guards were they were standing, and we walked near the wall, mainly so I wouldn't have to keep looking at the guards. I looked at the 40 foot high wall, to see if there was anyway to get into the city, but found no secret entrances or cracks.
