Jamada

How did he do it? I thought to myself as I carved into the second fungus leshy corpse.

I still couldn't figure out how Rattle did it. To be able to blow away the large hoard, kill the majority, and drain the life out of the plants didn't match any spell I knew......oh well, that's Sorcerers for you. It wouldn't surprise me if he used a spell he kept secret, or used a secret spell that only his kind used. I didn't bother to ask, because I knew he wouldn't answer, and I was to busy studying the leshys.

The leshys body's were hollow, with only a tube from their mouths going to a pod were they digested their food. Along with that, they had spores inside them, that pour out if the skin were torn and can irritate a person's eye, blinding them for a long as a minute. I found that out when I cut into one of the corpses not wearing my goggles, and the puffy spores came out, making my eyes water and blinding me. Forchenetly, I washed it out, and worked with my goggles on after that. I even decided to get the spores in some bottles for future battles, after all, it could come in handy.

After working for another hour, I went to bed and found my eyes were heavy.

A side-effect I suppose. I thought.

In the morning, the three of us go up early again, and walked through the jungle, searching for a beast to fly us to the Shackles. This was the third day out in the Eternal Oasis, and not one creature showed itself. We walked on in silence, trying to hear something, anything, but there was no birds chirping or bugs buzzing...... something happened.

Hours passed by, until it became about noon, when I got the most awful stench.

"Wha-What is that?" I said trying to hold in my lunch.

"Something dead by the smell." Venom said as he waved his hand in front of his nose.

"Well let's move ahead and leave this area. I've never smelled anything so bad in my life." Rattle said and we didn't argue the least.

However, as we moved forward, the smell got even worse, and we were deciding to change direction when we came to a small clearing and found the source.

It was a corpse of a triceratops, a recent kill if anything, and the smell was really strong here. I was about to suggest we move ahead, before whatever killed it found us, when a green head appeared from behind the dead Dino.

"Desna weeps." I said.

The monster before us was a troll, a monster that stood to be 8 ft tall with a large hump, green thick hide, red eyes, long arms with sharp claws, and a large tusked underbite. The beast was clearly eating the body, as it had meat hanging from its tusks, and it's eyes went wiped and it jumped into of the carcass. Then, three troll hounds, dog versions of its troll master ran from behind the carcass and stood before us growling. The troll spoke something in giant, something I didn't understand so I pulled out a potion that aloud me to understand any language for a time, and drank it.

"Why you here?" He said again, more forcefully.

"Traveling." Rattle said calmly. "We took a wrong turn, trying to get to a town just east of here. Heavily populated." This got the trolls attention.

"Heavily....populated?" The stupid troll said, as he licked his lips. Trolls have a large appetite, and can eat large amounts at a time.

"Yes. Perhaps we could show you were it is. We never have been big fans of the mammals anyway...if you don't eat us." Venom said to the dumb troll. The troll looked down at the hounds and had them back off.

"Weren't going to eat you any way." It said. "To small and skinny to be a snack.......What are you any way?"

"I am a kobold." I said bowing. "And these two are serpentfolk."
