"You've been down here for almost a year?" Varak asked me as I took a sip from the goblet.

"Indeed." I said. "We've gone from nation to nation, looking for someone to sail us up to the north, but the mammals that we met....."

"Lets just say its not everyday they see two serpentfolk and a kobold ask to sail on there boat, so they tend to get....violent." Venom said.

"Well I'm glad to see that it will changed." Varak said, referring to the promise he made.

We've been at Varaks castle for five days now, letting the hours slip by. We were originally going to leave four days ago, but we soon learned that Varak had a scroll of teleport. Apparently, the incident with the 'Lich King' was only a few days ago, and while his companions rested in the World Wound he decided to have a wizard teleport him to his home, not before buying a scroll of teleport to get him back. Now, we simply had to wait one more day until he, and the three of us, leave the Sodden lands, and met with his companions in Kyonin, were they were paid by the Elf Queen. Today me and Venom have been chatting with Varak in the dinning room, while Jamada was using Varaks alchemy lab, with his permission of course.

"Might I ask why you come to the Sodden Lands." Varak asked. "I understand your desperation, but the only thing here are tribes of boggards, humans, kobolds, goblins, and other lizardfolk."

"We were originally travelling to The Shackles, flying on Pterosaurs to get there quicker....but we were... attack." I said.

"By what?" Varak asked.

"I...........don't know." I said truthfully. This made Varak raise an eyebrow. I briefly described what happened, the weapons and the figure that attacked us use.

"You said this figure had a staff?" Varak asked when I was done. I nodded. "Interesting." he said as he put a hand on his chin.

"Why so?" Venom asked.

He hesitated for a moment, before speaking. "There is a boggard king, named Bullgup, that has united twelve tribes together, that has been terrorizing the nation by killing other tribes, humans and non-humans alike to 'retake that belonged to them'. From what I heard, he has incredible strength, intelligence that no boggard should possess, and has a staff for mere show, but tribes of lizardfolk and kobolds argue over it, saying it belongs to their race, for it has a rune mark speaking of an ancient reptile god."

The last statement got mine, and Venoms attention.

"An ancient reptile god?" Venom asked. Varak nodded and gave us a curious glance.

"What do you know?" He asked.

I looked to my brother and we both nodded simultaneously.

"Do you know of our kinds deity Ydersius?" I asked.

"I have heard of him yes, but I know little about him." He said.

"Our god helped shape our kingdom, back in the Age of Serpents, when our kind ruled." I said. "He lived among our kind, as a giant black scaled serpentfolk, and was feared through Golarion. The gods Desna, Abadar and Shelyn did battle with him, but even they could not best him. However, a heroine of Azlant, Savith, led an attack with an army of Azlant soldiers, to the city of IImurea, were our god lived. Being a mortal, she cold not kill the god, so she severed the head and threw it into a lake of fire and banished the body into the darklands. Shortly after the battle, she died from a poisonous bite. After the war with the humans, our numbers were drastically cut and we retreated into the darklands."

"Very interesting." The lizardfolk said once I was done. "And do you think that it is a staff that belonged to your kind?"

"If it speaks of our god it has to be." I said, and I immediately began to form a plan for tonight.
