"I've been going over some unsolved cases. There's a sharp increase in unexplainable deaths and missing people." Barry glanced at the three other people, his green eyes lingering on blue eyes.
"Your meta-humans have been busy but I'm not saying that it's your fault." Caitlin looked away from Barry, her mind wandering to her deceased lover. The one who promised her forever.
"I know that you didn't mean for any of this to happen. I know that each of you lost a part of your lives' that night." Caitlin looked back at Barry who was already looking at her.
"But I need your help to catch Mardon and anyone else that's like him." Barry glanced at Emely, who was listening very carefully to every word that came out of his mouth.
Barry saw Emely as a friend. A great friend at that. She's always there and always knows what to say to make Barry feel better. That's why Barry likes her as a friend.
"I can't do this without you."
Emely, on the other hand, deep down inside, wants to be more than that. She doesn't like it that Barry keeps friendzoing her, but Barry has feelings for Iris. Feelings that he'll probably have forever. Emely just can't bring herself to admit that she likes him.
"You know we'll always help you, Bare. We'll always be here to help you. Just say the word and we'll be there." The forensic scientist smiled at the short brunette, which made her giddy inside.
Like always.
"If we do help you, which I'm not saying that we won't, then I have something that will help." Everyone followed Cisco out the room and into another room, where he revealed a scarlet suit.
"That's a really nice suit. Love the color." Emely nodded as she admired the suit.
"It's something I've been working on and it's supposed to replace the turnouts that firefighters wear." The four young people stared at the scarlet suit that was before them.
"Why did you start it?" Cisco looked at the blue eyed girl
"I started thinking that people wouldn't be so mad at Dr. Wells if we did something nice." Emely nodded.
Barry walked carefully toward it, fascinated by it's appearance and curious about the help it will bring him when running.
"How is it going to help me?" Emely squinted her blue eyes to see if she knew what the suit was made of.
"It's made of a reinforced tri-polymer. It's heat and abrasive resistant to withstand your moving at high velocity speeds. They aerodynamic design should help you to maintain its control. It also has built in sensors so we can check your vitals from here." The long haired man beamed with pride as he talked about his creation.
"Thank you, Cisco." Barry ran his green eyes up and down the suit to take in all its appearance again and again.
Emely watched as Barry did so and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Looks like Central City has a scarlet speedster." Barry smiled down at the short brunette and she smiled back.
They both smiling at each other for awhile, oblivious to the other pair's reaction.
"Does Barry like Emely? I thought Barry liked Iris?" The young doctor whispered to her long haired colleague
"Oh yeah. You can see it in the way that he smiles and looks at her. It's completely obvious. And I think he keeps telling himself he likes Iris, but he's starting to have feeling for Emely. And Emely likes Barry too. I've already told her that he likes her but she thinks that Barry is with Iris." The long haired man crossed his arms as he continued to watch the other pair continue to gaze at each other, a blush evident on the short brunette's cheeks.
"She told me that too. I told her to talk to Barry about the Iris thing because I know that Iris and Barry aren't toegther. Maybe they both like each other, but they either deny it or are oblivious to the signs." The long haired man nodded in agreement with his colleague before getting the other pair's attention.
The long haired man coughed rather loudly, earning a quiet laugh from the young doctor, who went over to the computer. Emely looked at Cisco who was grinning from ear to ear as if telling the short brunette 'I told you so.'
"So, how do we find this Mardon guy?" Emely crossed her arms as Caitlin walked near them while carrying a tablet.
"I retasked the S.T.A.R Labs satellite to track down meteorological abnormalities." Emely nodded
"So it'll track down effects in the atmosphere caused by a meta?" The young doctor nodded as the tablet pinged
"Atmospheric pressure dropped 20 millibars in a matter of seconds." Barry headed over to the suit as Emely and Caitlin tracked it down.
"We located where it's dropped. It's at a farm just west of the city." Barry sped into the suit as Emely walked over to him.
"You look nice." Barry's cheeks started becoming as red as the suit.
"Thank you." Barry picked Emely up bridal style and looked down at her.
He took in every facial feature of the short brunette. He noticed how her eyes were looking at him with admiration, as if he were some kind of hero.
Emely looked up at Barry and noticed his eyes were bright and curious. She looked at him with admiration. She admired how he was willing to risk his life to save innocent civilians and hunt down people just like him.
Once again, the pair got lost in their own world just by looking at one another, oblivious to the other two people looking at them.
"If they don't get together, then I'm doing whatever it takes to get them together." The long haired man huffed, making his colleague roll her eyes.
"I'm pretty sure they will."
The short brunette soon snapped out of her thoughts and noticed Barry was still staring.
"Barry." The scarlet speedster snapped out of his thoughts and started racing toward the farm.
As they were on the move, Emely was thinking. She started thinking about Barry. Barry has made an impact on her life in ways that she thought couldn't be done. Emely always thought that those fairytales were pure imagination. How a princess meets the prince and they fall in love. It's not like that in real life. It's harder. When Emely was a teenager, she began reading fanfiction. That's when her mind started opening of all the possibilities of meeting someone from all those stories she had been reading on some website called Wattpad.
But Barry, her Barry, had entered in a way she never thought. He entered her life by S.T.A.R Labs and his new power. She never knew she would meet a superhero. Sure, she read comics about superheroes, but meeting one? She thought that was a make believe thing. But now, it's not so make believe anymore.
They were almost at the farm when Barry stopped and set Emely down.
"What?" He smiled at her.
"Nothing. I just realized that you always come with me to fight a meta-human, but I never understood why." Barry shrugged
"Someone has to be here in case you get hurt. I can leave if you want me to." Barry shook his head.
"No, don't leave. I want you here with me." Emely embraced Barry
He wrapped his arms around her petite body as they held each other. Emely heard sirens getting louder and she let go of Barry when she saw a cop car pass by.
"It's showtime, Barry." He smiled.
"Go show him what you've got." He nodded and placed a kiss on her cheek before carrying her again and speeding off.
She felt as he ran closer to the farm, wanting to risk his life to save this city.
He set Emely down to save Joe from a piece of a roof that was flying toward him. Emely saw Barry smile at her before speeding off again.
"Go get him, Barry."
