In A Matter Of Seconds [Under Editing]

Chapter 47

Joe held Emely as Mardon glanced down at her. 

"She was in the way." Joe set Emely down before trying to grab the wand. 

Mardon used his powers to send Joe flying away from the wand. The officers tried to shoot at Mardon, but Mardon had started to destroy everything. He got lightning bolt and aimed it at Joe, but Captain Singh was the one who took the hit. 

Barry, meanwhile, was speeding way toward the station. When he got there, he grabbed the wand and Mardon's powers were starting to vanish. Mardon became powerless, and he escaped as Eddie and Joe checked on Captain Singh. Joe glanced at Barry who was staring at something. 

Barry held the wand as he looked at Emely, his heart breaking. He raced her to the hospital, and then  returned for Captain Singh. Barry sped to Emely's room after changing out of his suit.

"How is she?" The doctor sighed.

"She's in a coma. She got hit pretty on the left side of her head. If she wakes up, she might not remember you, or anyone else." Barry put his head in his hands. 

He began to cry as Joe walked in.

"How is she?" Barry didn't respond. 

"Barry." Barry lifted his head.

"She's in a coma, Joe. If she wakes up, she might not remember me or anyone." 

"She's gunna be okay. Just like Singh. I need to end this thing with Mardon." 

"Not by yourself." Joe nodded

"Yes, by myself. I can't let Mardon hurt anyone else like he did to Emely. He wants to avenge his brother's death which goes beyond me to you and Iris. I need you to stay with her and make sure she's safe and don't leave her side." Barry nodded 

"Yeah." Joe left and Barry called Caitlin to watch Emely.

"She's in a coma. She might not remember any of us if she wakes up." Caitlin gave Barry a hug, and he shortly left to find Iris. 

Caitlin called Cisco, who was with Lily, and told the couple about Emely's condtion, while Joe was trying to find Mardon, but found Eddie instead. 

"Eddie, you shouldn't be here."

"And you shouldn't be chasing after Mardon alone, partner. Did you find anything?" Joe shook his head

"Not yet, but this was an old Mardon brothers hideout about 6 years ago. So it's a long shot, but listen Eddie-"

"Save it. I'm not leaving." 

At the same, Iris was trying to a hold of her dad when Barry came through the door. 

"Barry, hey. What's wrong? You look like your dog just died." 

"Not a dog, but something special to me. Someone." 

"Barry, what happened?"

"Emely's in a coma. She might not remember who we are." Iris looked at Barry with sympathy. 

"Barry. She'll be fine." 

"Who knows."

While Barry was grieving over Emely, Joe and Eddie had entered a room in hopes of Mardon being there.

"Someone was in here very recently." Joe wandered over to the bed and picked up a newspaper.

"He left this here for me." What they didn't notice was the strong wind blowing through the open window. 

"Where to next?" Before there was a response, Joe was pulled out of the window.

"Joe!" 

When Joe woke up, he saw that he was on a boat. His face was bloody, he was handcuffed so he wouldn't escape, and he had a broken leg.
