Chapter 53

The morning after, Eddie, Joe, Cisco, Caitlin, Barry and Emely gathered in Joe's living room to eat pizza all the way from Coast City

"Caitlin?" The young doctor denied 

"Emely? Why aren't you eating? You're usually the first along with Cisco to grab a slice or two." 

"I'm not hungry." Joe glanced at Barry

"Are you sure?" Emely nodded

"I'm sure." Emely zoned out. 

When Cisco mentioned he'd been having dreams, Emely was reminded of hers. 

She saw herself, Mardon and Joe. In minutes, Mardon had hit a piece of hail on her head and watched as Joe caught her as she fell unconscious.

"Emely." Emely looked back at Barry who was staring at her along with Eddie, Cisco and Joe. 

"Are you okay?" She nodded

"I'm fine."

"Emely," Eddie called out to her after he interrogated a woman, "we need to talk."

And so that's how she spent her morning. With Eddie at Jitters, talking until she had everything off of her chest. And so did Eddie. Instead of going to S.T.A.R Labs, Emely made herself full of the ongoing investigation.

"Another meta. Great."

"Maybe you should go to S.T.A.R Labs. I mean, you work there as well." Emely sighed

"You're right. I'll see you later." Emely walked out the door and headed to the lab.

She regretted being there as Caitlin was still cautious about what happened last night and Emely had enough

"I'm going home." Barry gazed as his love walked out

"Is she okay?"

"I'll ask her later." Lily walked in stopped

"Dude, what's with the tension?" Barry sighed.

"Lily-"

"No, she is not going to be apart of this." Caitlin glared at Barry

"About what? About how Dr. Wells might be evil? Cisco told me."

"You believe it, don't you?" Lily shrugged

"I guess we'll just have to see."

Emely sighed again as she listened to Eddie talking to Barry. She glanced over at a man who was staring at her. Eddie nudged her, and together, they ran after him.

The man started fighting both Eddie and Emely, knocking Eddie down and pushing Emely over him.

Barry arrived shortly and tried to stop him as well, and he watched as the man turned into a teenage girl.

"Well, that was new."

Barry raced back to S.T.A.R Labs with Emely and filled them in with what had happened

"A shape shifter?"

"Yeah, I literally saw a grown man, like morph into teenage girl."

"That doesn't seem weird at all."

"That's fascinating. Today's physicists have always regarded programmable matter as nothing more than a theory, but I guess your shape shifter proves it can be done."

"Wait, so he or she or whatever, this person can actually transform into anyone they touch?"

"Yes, it appears so. That includes you, Mr. Allen."
