The next morning, Emely stared at her reflection. Emely had stopped crying hours before she fell asleep. She sighed as she did her daily routine and went downstairs into the main lobby.
"I was wondering if I could pay for a couple of more nights." The receptionist nodded and Emely handed her some cash.
"How many more nights?" Before Emely could reply, she felt a hand on her shoulder.
She turned to meet a pair of curious green eyes.
"She's actually going to stay with me." Barry led Emely outside.
"Are you okay?" Emely nodded.
"Yes, I'm okay." Barry took Emely into an alleyway and then rushed to Stagg Industries. Emely was placed next to Joe, who seemed to notice Emely's expression.
"What's going on between you and Barry? When you both were in his lab, you didn't say anything." Emely sighed.
"I have feelings for Barry." Joe laughed.
"Why are you laughing?" Joe shook his head, still laughing.
"Emely, I already knew that you had feelings for Barry. I'm pretty sure everyone knows that. Now, Barry is one that I'm not sure about." Emely nodded.
"I heard him say that he's in love with Iris, and that I'm just a friend. A very good friend." Joe didn't reply.
He always knew that Barry had feelings for his daughter, but the fact that Barry is leading Emely on while having those feelings for Iris makes him wonder what's going on with Barry.
"The best I can tell you is that you need to give this time. Maybe Barry doesn't realize that he's leading you on." Emely nodded.
"You saw that kiss, didn't you?" Joe nodded.
"Yes, I was surprised too. I didn't think that Barry would kiss you." Emely shrugged.
"He did it before when he first was about to fight Mardon. I liked it too." Joe looked at the young girl.
He noticed she wasn't exactly happy in that moment, with her realizing her feelings for the scarlet speedster, and him being in love with Iris.
"You never talk about your parents, or siblings if you have any." Emely sighed.
"My parents left me and I don't think I have any siblings. I was the only child they had in house, so I'm guessing I was an only child." Joe was surprised.
He never knew about Emely that much, but after hearing that, Joe admired her.
"Even though you didn't have any parents growing up, you became a wonderful young woman, who is capable of loving someone even though she didn't receive any when she was young. You have grown into someone who, despite had no one to guide her during her childhood, seems like she knows what she's doing. And I admire that." Emely stepped toward him and embraced him.
She let her tears flow freely as she let her emotions come out into play. She was never one to cry a lot; she tried to hide her true colors inside, yet sometimes, Emely lets all the emotions out so that way she wouldn't having a breaking point.
"Thank you, Joe. That really made my day." Joe nodded.
"I'm always here. Oh, and if you want, I can talk to Captain Singh and ask him if he can let you work at Eddie and I's partner." Emely sniffled.
"You would do that for me?" Joe nodded.
"You don't always have to take care of Barry. He needs to make himself be safe." Emely nodded.
