In A Matter Of Seconds [Under Editing]

Chapter 28

"So what do you think?" Barry stood next to Emely as Eddie came walking back to them. 

"Judging by the mud and kegs, I'd say he got hammered, stole a big ass truck and went joyriding. I bet the kegs are stolen too. Rusty Iron Ale. It's a microbrew right over in-"

"Keystone. I know it. Let's go check it out." Eddie walked away and Barry started putting some stuff into a baggie and placed it in his case.

"Barry." He stood up and faced Emely.

"Yeah?"

"You know you can trust me, right?" Barry nodded

"Yeah, I know. And you can trust me." Emely nodded.

"That means that you can tell me anything, even when you have fights with Iris." Barry sighed.

"Was it about her blog?" Barry nodded. 

"I told her to stop and she didn't want to listen." Emely placed a hand on his arm.

"She'll come around, Bare." Barry nodded before pecking her lips. 

"I'm glad I can count on you to be here." She smiled.

"I'll always be here." Barry kissed her

Eddie was about to call out to them but stopped when he saw them kissing. He smiled slightly, happy that they finally know about each other's feelings.

"Barry, Emely, let's go." They headed to the cop car

Barry and Emely sat in the backseat, leaving Eddie in front by himself. Barry held Emely's hand and Eddie watched them from time to time in the rearview mirror. When they got there, Emely saw guys loading up a truck. 

"Gentlemen, CCPD. Any chance of some of your merchandise was stolen last night."  A man shook his head 

"No, I don't think so." 

"How about this guy? You seen him?" Eddie held up a picture of Woodward. 

Emely noticed that the guy in the truck turned to look away. She started walking toward him.

"You know him, don't you?" Instead of answering, the man pushed Emely and ran. 

Emely started to run after him, Eddie behind her, telling Barry to run. Suddenly, Emely saw Barry in front of her and the world started to slow down. The man punched Barry on the cheek before getting tackled by Eddie. 

"Barry, are you okay?" He nodded

"Never better." Emely went over to Eddie who had the man. 

"Why did you run?" The man took in a shaky breath.

"It was an accident." Emely was curious

"What was an accident?" 

"Tony falling." Emely looked at Eddie. 

"He fell?" The man nodded. 

"He fell, but I swear to God we didn't kill him." Eddie nodded. 

"Go on." The man sighed.

"About 10 months ago, Keystone Ironworks. Boss is handing out pink slips." 

"People were getting fired." The man nodded at Emely

"Tony gets his and he just snapped. He just started beating the crap out of the guy. We pulled him off. Then the lights went out, some kinda power surge and Tony went over the railing into a vat of molten scrap." Emely nodded

"Lucky for you, he's still alive." She took her handcuffs and cuffed him. 

"How'd you get in front of us?" Barry looked at Emely.
