In A Matter Of Seconds [Under Editing]

Chapter 16

Barry's phone started vibrating and he looked who it was. He sighed before picking it up.

"Look, I told you I'm through." He was silent for a moment.

He hung up and led Emely outside, leaving a confused Iris behind. Barry raced to S.T.A.R Labs and standing there was Danton Black.

"What are you doing there? Do something!" Emely told Barry.

"Guys, it's okay." Emely shook her head quickly.

"Caitlin, it's not okay. Black is here and he's just standing there." Emely started to realize something.

"That's not him, is it?" Caitlin shook her head.

"It's one of our replicates." Emely grew curious.

"How did you get it?" Caitlin smiled proudly.

"I grew him." Emely raised an eyebrow.

"You grew him?" Caitlin nodded.

"Yes. I isolated a sample of Black's blood from Barry's suit to see if I could trigger the vitro cultivation process and learn how Black multiplies. So I exposed the target cells to a protein gel and they began replicating into that." Emely glanced at the figure, which Barry was poking.

"Why doesn't he- it do anything?" Barry waved his hand in front of its face.

"We did a brain scan. Involuntary motor functions are active. Little else." Caitlin explained.

"We think its acting as a receiver." Emely nodded.

"The clones are an empty shell without Black. Shut down the real Black and you might shut them all down." Barry looked at Dr. Wells.

"He has limits," Emely started, "like how you kept passing out because of your lack of food. Black has limits. He gets tired. I mean, controlling all of those clones must require a tremendous amount of physical strength. Look for the Black that shows sign of fatigue and you'll get him." Barry nodded.

"That may be just a theory, but one you might want to put to the test, Mr. Allen." Barry nodded at Dr. Wells.

"Plus, I whipped up these high calorie protein bars for you to keep your metabolism up." Cisco handed Barry a bar, when suddenly, the clone began to move.

Emely screamed along with Caitlin. There were gunshots and the clone fell, revealing Joe.

"Anymore of those?" Emely took deep breath to get her heart to stop racing.

"Nope." Emely and Barry turned to Caitlin.

"Why did it start moving? You said it was a clone." Emely began to think.

"The prime," She stated, "the prime is on the move. Its being summoned by the real Black." Joe put his gun away.

"And I know where he's going: Stagg Industries." Barry turned to Joe.

"You should call it in." Joe shook his head.

"Police can't fight this. What Black's become, like Mardon, is beyond me. Maybe way beyond them too. The only person it's not beyond is you. You gotta do this, I get it. So for once in your life, do what I tell you to do. Go stop him." Barry smiled and then walked away to the suit. 

He auickly sped into the suit and let Emley climb onto his back. He sped them to Stagg Industries and left Emely in a room. Barry sped to save Stagg before he got shot. Barry sped Stagg to where Emely was. 

"Stay here." Emely nodded before watching Barry speed away.

"You know him?" Emely looked at Stagg

"Yeah, he's pretty amazing." Emely smiled at the thought of Barry.

"You seem like you love him." Emely shook her head. 

"I don't love him, just have a crush on him. Apparently, everyone knew about my feelings except for me. I just realized it days ago. The only problem is that he's in love with someone else. I know this, because I heard him say it." Stagg chuckled. 

"That's common now among teenagers. My daughter, Allison, went through the same thing. She liked this boy named Jake, but he was dating someone else. A cheerleader, and Allison was really crushing on him. Allison told me that Jake had been cheated on and she stayed by his side for weeks. He began to see her in a different light. Then, a month later, they were dating. I'm telling you this beccause maybe you and him will get together." Stagg pointed at Barry.

"Now, do you parents know about this?" Emely shook her head. 

"No, my parents left me when I 7. I moved here from New York weeks ago." He nodded

"Oh, well. I'm sure they would love to know that you have grown up to be a smart young girl." Emely smiled. 

"As for your feelings, just give it some time. He'll eventually see what's in front of him and maybe realize he has feelings for you." Emely nodded.

Emely and Stagg began to talk some more, but in the back of Emely's mind, she started to think of what Stagg said. She wants Barry to admit that he likes her. Barry, on the other hand, doesn't even know that he likes her. To him, he still likes Iris. That's the problem. Emely knows that Barry loves Iris. He doesn't know that she knows. Emely feels like this will be a one-sided crush. Emely likes Barry who loves Iris who's dating Eddie. Emely thinks that Barry doesn't like her and that he'll always love Iris. 

Emely's never had a boyfriend, but she has had crushes. This crush, however, is no different from the others. Mintues had passed and Barry wasn't back yet so Emely said goodbye to Stagg, and made her way back to S.T.A.R Labs. She liked walking, it helped her clear her mind of whatever was in it. This time, she wanted to clear her mind of Barry, but she couldn't. She liked him too much. She shook her head as she crossed the street, knowing that she shouldn't have gotten so close to the scarlet speedster. Emely noticed that the sky was lighting up as the sun rose, indicating that she had spent all night at Stagg Industries. 

"Some people, when they break, they can't be put toegther again." Emely nodded, agreeing with the statement. 

"Some people heal even stronger." There was a silence when Emey walked in. 

"I hope so." Dr. Wells noticed Emely's prescence. 

"Where have you been, Ms. Hart?" Emely glared at Barry.

"Someone decided to leave me at the crime scene." Barry sighed. 

"At least Mutliplex won't be able to hurt anyone else." Emely smiled at Cisco.

"Told you I'd come up with a cool name." Everyone smiled at him.

"I may be the one in the suit doing all the running, but when I'm out there helping people, making a difference, you're all out there with me. I finally realized something." Everyone looked at Barry.

"We were all struck by that lightening."
