In A Matter Of Seconds [Under Editing]

Chapter 56

"I kept asking myself 'why would Wells pretend to need a wheelchair?'" 

Caitlin shrugged. "Sympathy."

"That's what I thought at first. He's the man in yellow. He's the Reverse-Flash. He's much smarter than that. Sympathy can't be the only reason."

"Misdirect, like everything else Wells has done. I mean, the last person we'd suspect to be the man in yellow is someone who lost the use of their legs."

"Well, as the saying goes 'it's the least person you'd expect.'"

"Exactly. Which is why I started messing around with the chair," Cisco flipped it to its side, "and I found this." 

He opened the bottom of it to reveal a glowing device. 

"Damn. You can't get that at RadioShack." Barry crouched down

"It looks like the tech inside Gideon."

"I measured the output, and this thing is really kicking off serious juice. I mean, we're talking enough to power all of Central City."

"What do you think Well was using it for?"

"I think this thing is some kind of battery." Emely nodded

"To power himself. I mean, he's the Reverse-Flash. He's gotta get his speed from somewhere." Emely looked at Barry. "That's probably why he's faster than you."

The computer started beeping and Cisco went over to it.

"The accelerator, it's been reactivated."

"What?" Emely went over and saw that it was indeed reactivated. 

"How can that be? It blew up though. Unless someone rebuilt it." Emely shared a look with Barry. 

"Wells has been here this whole time, hasn't he?" Barry, Joe and Cisco went to go check, leaving Caitlin and Emely in the Cortex. 

"What else can happen today?" 

"I sense that something bad happened." The two women faced Lily who had entered the Cortex

"Lily, what are you doing here? I thought you had work today?"

"I quit. I decided to move here to be closer to you guys." Emely smiled.

"Welcome to Team Flash." 

"So, what's happened so far?" 

"Wells kidnapped Eddie."

"What?!" 

"Yeah, apparently he's been here this whole time and Wells rebuilt the accelerator." Lily nodded

"This just keeps going, doesn't it?"

"It won't stop until we defeat Wells once and for all." Lily nodded again

"But this isn't really wells though. The real Harrison Wells is dead. This is Eobard Thawne."

"Wait, Thawne? Like Eddie?" Emely and Caitlin nodded

"We think they're probably related somehow." Caitlin, Lily and Emely were alerted that a meta-human was being released, so they went down to stop them. 

Much to their dismay, it was Shawna Baez, or her meta-human name Peak-A-Boo as Caitlin named her. 

Shawna took a couple of beatings in Caitlin before Emely knocked her out. Iris arrived just as Shawna hit the ground. They took her back to the pipeline placed Shawna back into it as Cisco and Joe were taken out. 

As they were talking about how she got out, Emely heard a muffled voice calling for help. 

"You guys hear that?" They were all quiet and the voice shouted again.
